I just stayed at this hotel over the July 4th weekend. I did all the hotel arrangements through Marriot's website. I recieved a fantastic rate in conjunction with my AAA auto club discount. Location of hotel is on a major intersection (Commercial Blvd. and US1). ***The hotel is not near the beach. There is restaurant in the hotel and a Denny's across the street. Rooms are large, very clean with a modern upscale decor (finally no pastels!!!). Beds are very comfortable, down pillows. There is cable TV, pay per view movies and a Bose wave alarm clock radio. In addition, there is a in-room coffee maker, small refrigerator, iron and a wall safe. ***Highly recommend getting a room facing the back parking lot, otherwise you will be subject to constant road noise. The only turn-off was the front reception desk personnel, the "kid" looked barely 18 and he expressed no emotion, no greeting. Obviously looked and acted as though he did not want to be there.

We enjoyed our stay at this Courtyard Marriott in Ft. Lauderdale. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. I particularly liked the firm mattresses. So often Florida hotels have mattresses that are worn out.
This hotel is tech friendly with free computer/internet access for laptops. Few hotels go out of their way to accomodate guests like this one.
I needed a few more pillows and within 2 minutes I had 4 more. Staffing is one of the best qualities. Breakfast is hearty and worth the $8.
If you enjoy swimming, the pool is great.

Stayed at this hotel over a weekend in June during a scouting trip to get info about an upcoming cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. Good points about hotel...$79 per night price is was a good deal for Courtyard; across the street from a Denny's restaurant so getting food at a good price 24-hours a day was no problem. Staff was friendly and attentive to requests. Beach is a 5-10 minute drive away, with public transportation just across the street to beach. Slight disappointments with hotel....not close to airport but has shuttle transportation to airport; hotel offers hot breakfeast each morning, but you pay between $7-10 (not complimentary); rooms were "slightly" drab for Courtyard by Marriott standards (expected a little better but wasn't a major issue); workers created noise in hallways on a weekend morning just to replace carpet flooring (you would expect work like this to be done around 11am on a weekend morning). Overall review....hotel was okay and would stay there again if in area, but wouldn't necessarily be my first choice.

We went to Ft. Lauderdale FL for our honeymoon in April 2003. My in-laws had a time share which covered our hotel expenses, but when we got to the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort it was a dive. We spent 2 hrs. looking for something else (mind you our previous hotel was paid for). We found the Courtyard Marriott. The property was well maintained, friendly staff, affordable, clean rooms. It was really nice. We stayed 6 days. If we had not found this hotel our honeymoon would have been ruined. It was a Sweet Relief. The pool staff was great and helpful to my swimmingly challenged husband.
