“Would not refer this so called resort to anyone........”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

It is a run down so called resort. The smell of the rooms was horrible. People left garbage outside if the rooms, didn't respect other paying customers. When I told the front dest about this he rolled his eyes, and said they are not suppose to do this and yet also said its not my job. I would never stay her again. The area is very shady not for families with children very shady people trying to get in. Security was not good. I go to FT. Lauderdale every summer and will not stay there again.........very old and not clean. I mop the rooms myself after looking at mt feet and the socks my child was wearing, they were so dirty. I don't call that a vacation.

Is this the Ritz? No. Was it clean and comfortable? Yes. They were working on the sundeck (installing a new one) so we were not able to use it. The pool was nice, not large but was never really too busy. The pool is a salt water versus chlorine which was really nice in my thoughts.
The rooms were clean and we were lucky as we got a room between the elevator (lift) and a maintenance closet so never had any loud neighbors. We might have been the loud ones. We had two rooms, one with an ocean view (great) and the other on the inter-coastal side. It was not high enough to see much so we spent most of the time in the other room with the ocean view.
Restaurant was not open, but didn't matter much since we cooked a lot of our meals in the room and went out a few times at the local shops just a block away.
Beach was great, if you have little children or even teenagers with headphones, please make sure they pay attention when crossing the main road to the beach. No offense to any Floridians but you all cannot drive!!!
Had a great week but I am laid back especially when on vacation. If you like to complain about everything, then why even go on vacation. Stay at home as I don't want you negativity.

This resort is located in a great place. It is a block from the beach. The rooms are clean but dated. We had a 1 bedroom with an extra 1/2 bath on the 11th floor which was nice. There is a balcony where you can enjoy the view while you relax. One thing they really need to do is have maintenance check over their elevators. One really rattles and the other squeaks bad. They are really scary..

Check in staff was average not very outgoing or very friendly. They only did their job and nothing more. Didn't ask if you needed any information regarding the area or the resort it self. The nicest person was the guest service girl by the front door. She was always helpful but she has only been there three weeks so her knowledge was limited.

Amenities were very average. Pool was not all that clean and I am pretty sure it was filled with salt water. At least it was very salty to me. Towels are not very big or fluffy at all. There is a bar by the pool that was open daily. The man who worked was very friendly and always interacting with guest. The lady on the last day only made drinks and had very little conversational skills. The resturant is closed and doesn't look like it will open again. The spa was also closed I think the whole time we were there. Parking is fine.

Location as stated was great. Block from beach and there is a pizza, Subway, other small resturants, stores and bars right there. You can even walk just a little over a mile to other upper scaled resturants and stores.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor facing the ocean.

Like others that have left reviews on this property, we were exchanging RCI points. Thank God we were only there one night! Unfortunately, RCI failed to tell us that despite our being there for only one night, we would have to pay a $61 cleaning fee! What a GREAT time to learn this....as we are checking in! We never would have stayed there had we known ahead! The next bad experience was the elevator, which shook so badly, we thought it was going to head into orbit....that never did get any better. When we opened our room, the smell nearly drove us out....somewhere between acetone and formaldehyde is the best description I can come up with. We were already late for the event we were in town for, so we threw the windows open, hoping it would be better when we got back....it wasn't. When I called the front desk to see if I could get another room, Robert sarcastically informed me it was my fault for not calling earlier and there was nothing he could do....and quite frankly, he didn't care! We all slept with pillows over our noses.....it made sleeping possible. Half of the rooms have a view of the ocean, half have a view of the rooftops to the west....we were among the latter. The advance literature leads one to believe all rooms have at least a view of the ocean, which most architects in the US had figured out even by the time this aged dump was built! Crappy outdated and dirty place, terrible and rude customer service and poorly maintained property. I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay there! Or my best friend!

Room Tip: DO NOT STAY HERE....under any circumstances!

Location: about 8 miles from Fort Lauderdale airport. We had a rental car and there is sufficient free parking space for guests. Upon registration, we got a car tag to hang while parked underground. It made it convenient to go to the car without getting wet from rain since the elevator opens in the ground floor leading to the garage. Walking distance to the beach , close to stores and restaurants, nice walk along the beach. There is a Publix where we bought snacks, fruits, etc. Galleria mall is a couple of blocks away. Very accessible to the road along the shore (35 miles per hour, lots of stops, nice beautiful large homes along the beach). If you're in a hurry, hop on the highway which is also accessible. We attended a wedding in Delray Beach, and we took both routes to see different views. Close to MIami.

Room: We got a one bedroom room; with king bed, sofa bed and murphy bed. Good for 6 people (2 kids). Bedroom closet is walk-in with safe. Need to pay $10 a week for safe fee, which was worth it. 1 1/2 baths, good size kitchen with granite tops. We requested floors higher than 7 floors to get a good view and we were given a room at the 11th floor facing intercoastal view. Very pretty at night with lights. The view can be seen from the bedroom which has huge windows. There is a balcony with furniture to have breakfast or just relax. Even though we could see the highway from the balcony, there was not any road noise. At night, we hardly heard any noise from other units. Once you step out of the unit into the hallway, we could hear the TV noise from the other rooms, which did not bother us.Two televisions (one in the bedroom and one in the living room). Being humid in June, we were expecting some bugs, but didn't see any at all. Very clean unit. Comfortable bed and pillows. They supplied several towels; we did not request daily housekeeping since we do not need it, and they have a scheduled one-time housekeeping.

Service: Quick and efficient check-in and check-out. There was reminder of events offered left in the voicemail. Guest services do not nag about timeshare presentation. We kindly refused and never heard about it anymore. They have 2 computers guests can use online for 15 minutes; very convenient for us to print our boarding passes. With wifi connection in the room.

Price was right - through exchange with Interval International.
Will stay again.

Room Tip: request for the floor and view you want ; they will try to accommodate requests. I specified quiet p...

Got stuck in a studio, which is attached to a 1 bedroom. There was a family staying in the 1 bedroom and we could hear EVERYTHING that went on their room and sure they could hear us! Not fun having to be woken up in the middle of the night or early morning by strangers talking, kids yelling and there's no way to relax. The room itself was clean and decent, but the noise level and lack of privacy wasn't pleasant. When trying to move to a "quieter room" was told no availability. Would not stay here again!

The resort:
Old, but well kept. The design is a little 80's but it was clean and in good condition. We had a 1 bedroom apartment+ a conected room. Perfect for us and plenty of space. 3 tv's but they are too small ( my guess is 27").
Parking:
Plenty of parking in front, on the side and behind.
Pool-area:
Pool was too small, no kiddie-pool wich ment many kids screaming and splashing all over. They have an extra sundeck with a jacuzzi also, but this was under reconstruction. The pool-bar was ok and the bartender was really making an effort with free margaritha-samples and great service.
The staff:
We were checked in by Glenn, an older guy. He forgot to give us a parkingpermit but luckily we only got a warning on the car and not towed. I talked to the colored woman at the front desk and she said that Glenn never forgets this and she was not very pleasant towards me. She was in general a bit hostile and not very service-minded. Needs to handle customers nicer.
Conclution:
The location is perfect: close to beach, watertaxi, restaurants, bars, shopping and a supermarket. The resort itself is average.
