Some background on us...

We are some the most laid back guys you will ever meet. A group of 10 guys ages 27-40 from Ohio, NJ and PA, and we were certainly not expecting the ritz carlton. I booked there cause I stayed at the Sheraton Clipper across the beach a year or two back and I spent more time at the bar/restaurant at the days inn bahia then I did at the clipper.

There are positives about this property but they were all wiped out upon seeing roaches in 3 of our rooms. We aren't talking about any little guys either. I mean the ones that might take out cats or small children if they were hungry enough. My buddies room also had ants and another guys room had a gecko. (we loved the gecko though, no problems there)

Pool is small but does the job. No real closing time so you an grab that 3am dip if you want. A little too much chlorine however which hurt the eyes.

Location is awesome, about 30 meters from the beach (just the road to cross), about a mile to Las Olas the Rivefront - where the bars and clubs are, 10-15 minutes from the airport...

Staff were all very helpful from the guy who grabs you a ca to the bar staff.

Rooms overall are pretty run down, although they were totally renovating them as we left - bad timing I guess! I went for the mid level room - studio efficiently; its got a little kitchen area for cold beers. Size wasn't bad, but then again we had 4 people in there. 3 of us and Gary, the roach as we came to call him.

The bar/restaurant area is great. It can be 10 am or 10 pm and the place is packed and lively! Cute bar tenders too, luv ya Jenn. I heard it is a big local hang out and the drinks are reasonable, 3 - 4 dollars each. Great seafood, i.e. Grouper Sandwich, Conch Fritters.

Final analysis - Stay elsewhere but hang or eat at the bar /restaurant. Sheraton clipper is right across the street and a good place. We paid about 120 a night direct through the hotel.

Insider tips/Must See's to Fort Liquordale -

1. Seminole Hollywood Hardrock Resort and Casino - it will blow your mind.

2. La Playa Beach Bar - awesome, hot bod contests, its the closest you'll get to south beach, right on A1A ten minutes from Days Inn.

3. Elbo Room Bar on Las Olas and A1A - you must have at least one beer there! It's a FLL institution, great people watching.

  • Liked — the day I checked out....
  • Disliked — Gary, the roach who lived with us for a few nights....

The only reason this place has any good reviews is because the hotel is posting them. I have called Days Inn to tell them to drop this dump. This is a 1/2 star hotel that is falling apart. It only does days inn a disservice to even associate their name with this franchise. That said.. a one word description for this place - GROTESQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Liked — Location to beach as good. Right accross the street
  • Disliked — Filthy, Grotesque, Falling appart,..I cannot say enough. This is the worst place I have ever stayed in... and I am POOR!..LOL. Cannot beleive they are opened. They recently tore down a place like this near where I live. Homeless people lived there.

We stayed at the Days Inn Bahia Cabana Memorial day weekend 2007. I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked it. It was Horrendous. First problem was that we were told they were booked in the main hotel(the hwhole reason we booked there was to be in the main hotel w the jacuzzi accessible to us). We were put way down the block in a broken down yellow building that was also owned by the days inn. Upon driving to our building we noticed there was NO place to park my car. When we went back to the MAIN building the valet said he'd park the car and we walked a block and a half with all of our bags to the room. We had to make 2 trips to carry it all. When we got inside there was a stench of mold and must. We put our bags down and checked out the room. The first thing we desperately wanted was air conditioning. Well the unit worked barely cooling the room and was loud. I thought the shower was running all the time. Which brings me to the bathroom. DISGUSTING. I wanted to take a shower but there was a film of grease on the bottom which i almost fell and got hurt because no bath mat was provided. The bathtub was no good because of the grease film and the rust stains by the drain that extended to the top of the tub made me think twice. At least the toilet flushed. On to the kitchen. The fridge was by far the grossest. A prior guests pepsi was left in it. The can must have exploded and housekeeping never cleaned it up. The sink had green corrosion encasing the drain. The best was the dining set. The chair looks like some questionable deeds were done on it. The white stains left all over made me not want to dine in the kitchen. So I opted to eat in bed. Not quite the luxury hotel I expected. The television had a picture tube that was on its way out fading in and out of color. The beds were OK but, I am not sure if the sheets were fresh. i slept on top of the blanket for that reason. Pay the extra dollars and stay elsewhere.ANYWHERE ELSE!!! One last thing, the "beaches largest jacuzzi" is in the middle of a bar facing the mens bathroom ensuring you will get an eyefull each and everytime a drunken person stumbles from the bar to and from it.

  • Liked — That I had to endure only 2 days there.
  • Disliked — The grime that was caked on almost everypart of our room. Oh and our view of garbage.

We stayed on a Saturday night at the Bahia Cabana Days Inn before our Cruise ship departed on Sunday. Everyone at the hotel and restaurant were very helpful and service oriented. We had a great time at the open air restaurant/bar Bahia Cabana Saturday night listening to live music and enjoying the festive atmosphere. We had a great breakfast at the same open air restaurant in the morning. Food and service were excellent. Our room was not fancy, but neither was the price. The people at the hotel were very accommodating and helpful with luggage and arrangements for transportation to the Port Everglades for our cruise. They weren't just nice they made our experience there fun. We would definitely go back the next time we are in FT. Laurderdale. They are in a good location, close to water taxis, the beach, and restaurants.

  • Liked — Fun atmosphere. Location. Bahia Cabana restaurant/bar.
  • Disliked — Room

I stayed at the Bahia Cabana a few years ago, and I loved the place. I can't wait to get back. I would say most of the reviews are true, whether they be good or bad. It's all in what you are expecting. When I booked my stay, I was looking for somewhere that I could kick back and relax during the day and party at night. See, I was an early 20's female traveling alone- just looking to have some fun and meet up with friends while on vacation. I found the pool to be clean and of a good temp. The hot tub was the same. I really enjoyed the bar area, the drinks are fairly priced and the entertainment was excellent. The view is spectacular- I keep a picture of marnia at my desk. The rooms really are nothing to brag about. They are pretty basic. I stayed there two weekends in a row, taking a trip to the west coast during the week. The first room was had two double beds and over looked the bar/hot tub/marina area. I really enjoyed this room! The second overlooked the pool. It was much quieter and had one king size bed. Both rooms were clean, and I felt secure there being alone. I have to be honest, I enjoyed the first room better because all I had to do was open the door and I was in the middle of the excitement.

I would stay here again... I'm actually looking at booking another trip right now! Bahia Cabana here I come!
