“Not that great...but ok for a night”

Sea Club Resort

Feb 27, 2008

It's really chaotic and busy in the lobby all the time...the staff was very nice at the front desk and they offer a $6 airport shuttle. They also have some cheap little beach chairs (not loungers) and some towels (with holes).

Funny thing is we got off our cruise at 8:30 am and went there right away and they were super friendly and held our luggage and sent us to the beach until we could check in at 3pm. We were swimming out front of the hotel (great beaches) and some guy over heard us saying where we were staying and he came over to tell us that he saw the same hotel on Inside Edition last year and that it was rated one of the dirtiest hotels in the USA. We were a bit scared after that comment but it wasn't too bad. It definitley could use a face lift. There were hairs on the sheets, funky toilets, poor drainage in the tub. Then we were resting on the bed and a maid just waltzed in mumbling something and went to our bathroom...we were so dumbfounded we didn't say a thing. Then she left returning 5 minutes later (once again letting herself in the door) and added more towels without even acknowledging us! WEIRD! There are worse hotels out there but I think there may be better choices in Fort Lauderdale in the same price range.

we turned up on a saturday and a friend had booked us into this hotel.

we had looked it up on the internet, but unfortunately, not on tripadvisor - which was a big mistake.

when we were shown our room, it was on the fourth floor, in like a galleried landing if you like. the room smelt musty and looked very old and dingy., although the bathroom was very clean.

on examining oour patio door, which looked out over the car parking area, the door was broken, and broken fromthe outside, so a bit of a worry.

when reporting things to reception,t hey sent a man to have a look but the door could not be fixed.

I could not rest with this broken door, and we swapped rooms with our friends, only to find that their one was broken too.!!

at this point decided we could not stay and we moved to another hotel up the block, and were much happier.

this is a prime location hotel, but would not recommend anyone to stay there, they are very slapdash in their approach to customer happiness.

What A joke, if you like dirty rundown, old, rude, and just down right scary than this is the place for you. It's also known for it's homosexual appeal. but I pearsonally do not know any gay's that would stay in this roach motel. When we wanted to leave as soon as we seen the rooms they would not even condsider a refund. BEWARE..

Hi, welcome to our dirt hole! Drag your luggage into our two person rickety elevator to the 3rd floor then drag your luggage out the door along a long outside balcony in the rain to the next elevator that has holes in its walls. I felt like I was in a horror movie. If you take off your glasses, plug your nose and keep your clothes and shoes on, you would probably like the room.
It was so so dirty we slept in our clothes! The walls and ceiling were cracked and pealing. The blankets had many holes and the sheets were stained and worn. The carpet was incredibly filthy with so many different hairs ground into the pile, you could tell it had not been vaccuumed in a long time. The smell was not nice. The dresser drawers even had dust inside them so we didn't take our clothes out of the suitcases. The bathroom door would not shut. The towels and faceclothes were terrible. The hot water was inconsistant and scalded you. Tried using the hair drier and it started to smoke and spark. I had to clean the phone before I could use it - believe me, a phone booth phone was cleaner. The location is great if you like walking. The pool was so dirty we would not use it. The male front desk attendants had terrible attitudes. The health board should condemn this hotel. I would not stay there again even if it was for free. Just because it is a old bulding does not mean it has to be unlivable. Please readers - do not do not stay at this hotel. The pictures on its web site are not true AT ALL. The only thing that was true was the entertaining bird in the lobby.
Yes, he is beautiful but has a loud squak that you can hear in your room. The web site states you get one free cocktail and continental breakfast if you book on site. You have to go the front dest each morning to get a breakfast and drink voucher. We were not told this when we checked, we just happened to see another patron getting their voucher. You are ALLOWED either a coffee or tea, juice, and only one (I repeat ONE) of either a baegel, toast or muffin. We felt like everything was rationed. There is so much more I could tell you but the most important message is RUN THE OTHER WAY.

“Dirty,Unorganized Hotel”

Sea Club Resort

Pictures on the web site are not like the Hotel. To get to our room on the 5 th. floor we had to take one elevator to the 3 rd.floor and walk down a long hallway to another elevator that took us to the 5 th. floor carrying all our luggage as the trollies were broken. The hallways were very dirty as though they had not been vaccumed or shampooed of at least 2 months. Filth in the elevators with holes right through to the shaft. When we walked into our room the carpets there had not been vaccumed or washed either and had hair, and big burnt iron marks all over the carpeting. The mirrors and patio doors had not been cleaned at all and were filthy inside and out. Empty pop bottles on the balcony. When we got in the shower the bathtub had slime under our feet and all up the walls. While showering we continually got burnt all over our bodies with the hot water coming on full and then shutting off. In the week we were there the swimming pool was never cleaned and not one person would go into it. The staff were never pleasent or friendly. One young girl at the front desk helped us out a couple of times. The last day, my husband dropped his key on the floor in front of the dresser and when he bent to pick it up he noticed a cigarette package under the dresser. Obviously our room was not cleaned properly all week. It was a non smoking room (we don't smoke).
