My husband and I and our 12 month-old son stayed at this motel on January 9, 2008. The motel has many pros like location and price but if I didn't have to I wouldn't stay there again. The motel isn't really family friendly. I did like the balcony to an extent. It was nice to put our son to sleep in his pack n' play and go out on the balcony and read. The balconies are designed well in that they give you a lot of privacy from the other patrons of the motel. But the balconies are not designed well in that they are older and not built to code. My son could have easily slipped through the gaps in the railing, therefore we could not allow him on the balcony. The room and linens were clean. The furniture and decor were updated. But the bathroom needed serious attention. It was clean but very old. There was a leak in the tub. The leak must have been there for years because there was an awful stain around the drain. It totally grossed me out to bath my son in there. The other thing I was really disappointed about was the pool. There were jelly-fish in the water when we went across to the beach so I thought, "Well at least our motel has a pool!" It looked clean and so inviting, but when I stepped in it I literally gasped. It was freezing. I had wondered why no one was in it when we passed on the street. I took a quick dip to get the ocean off me but it was too cold for my baby. It would have been cruel to take him in there. The other thing is that in the middle of the night there was a party or something in a nearby room. My husband didn't hear it but they were so loud they woke up me and my baby.
Overall, I think I'd be fine with this place if I didn't have a baby. It was easy because I knew we were only staying one night and that we had a nicer hotel booked for the next few nights. But I definitely wouldn't want to spend a week here with my baby.

This hotel is on the beach. This is really the only reason to stay here. The pool was tiny, gross, hadn't been cleaned in god knows how long. The rooms were not so good. I mean.. it was clean, the beds were clean and the bathroom was clean but the rooms are just generally old and crappy and dark. If you are really on a budget and want to be by the beach, its an ok place. If you are looking for a nice pool or view or to enjoy the room - stay elsewhere.

“Nice Enough”

Nice enough to stay for a few days. I was single lady traveling alone
Cleaning is not the top of the line. Visible dust, dirt all around the floor boards. Updates and a good cleaning would help out the appearance. Also a good handy man to fix all the noticable little things that are wrong,,,, decaying wood, cabinet for the microwave, rusty awning rails on the restaurant deck, awful carpet smell, badly worn carpeting, door lock not quite the right alignment, phone had wrong room number lable and needed a good cleaning, But the tv worked and so did the radio and the phone and the iron and the coffee maker and the shower and the toilet and the sink and the bed. It was a nice enough stay, just do not look too close for the mishaps. Could not figure out the public transportation to go sight seeing. Buses and trolleys run up and down the street all the time. Never found the water taxi, The taxi service is a rip off too expensive. Ate most meals at the hotel outdoor restaurant. Other hotels and restaurants are within walking distance. Great location to just go to the beach and gaze at the ocean and look at the folks. Nice enough to just relax and take it easy for a few. Great attractions, just too far away from the hotel and not accessable by public transportation,

“Would stay here again!”

I read all the reviews prior to booking with this hotel and most of them were bad but, I came upon one review that said, 'Use the room for what it's meant for ... to sleep!" and that is just what we did. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful, we had an amazing breakfast on the front patio restaurant overlooking the ocean, the view was priceless! The waiter was very friendly and I was impressed with the prices. We walked along the beach at night to a little shopping area about 15 mins from the hotel. For what we payed for the room, I think it was well worth it! Me and my boyfriend said we would definitely stay there again! Here's what it comes down too ... What type of hotel are you looking for? This probably isn't your Honeymoon sweet however, its a fantastic hotel with unbeatable pricing, an amazing view and right across the street from the ocean! If you are looking for someplace to hang your head at night for a great price, then I would highly recommend The Sea Club Resort!

“Dated but clean”

We stayed at the Sea Club for four days in November. The rooms are relatively small and dated, but clean. Some rooms have balconies, ours just faced a public walkway. The building is clearly old, but maintained and the staff is very nice. Overall the atmosphere is very relaxed. The outside restaurant has a nice view of the ocean, however the Friday karaoke was too loud.
All other hotels around are very expensive, the Sea Club was an affordable alternative for us. Don´t expect luxury!
