We got a deal on a cruise out of Port Everglades, and we discovered the Sea Club on the Web. Our 2 young children were with us, and what attracted us at first was the price, especially considering the location right across the street from the beach. I must say, the beach was a great idea, as far as keeping children occupied goes!

As for the Sea Club, although it is not new, it has some unique advantages that were perfect for us. It is near the beach, as I said, but also near inexpensive eateries and shopping. The rooms are big, easily family-size. The staff is very helpful. They have a pool right there, in an area where it was easy for us to relax, even with the little ones near the water.

If you are used to luxury resorts, this is probably not the place for you. But if you have budget constraints, like us, the Sea Club can be a great choice.

This is our third stay in 6 months at Sea Club. You can't beat the price, the rooms are clean and the LOCATION is fantastic !! The beach is across the street and you are within walking distance to Beach Place. The staff is friendly and make you feel at home. We are already planning our next trip. Please feel free to contact me directly with specific questions.

On a positive note...the sheets were clean. We found the Sea Club to be less than ideal when expecting resort accommodations on Ft. Lauderdale beach. Actually it was reminiscent of a seedy hotel where one might want to hole up to ingest intoxicants, avoid the law or have an illicit encounter, complete with a musty oder pervasive throughout. Peeling paint coming off walls complimented the water stained ceiling tiles nicely to reinforce the effect of grunge at its worst, or best, depending on your perspective. The street people digging through the garbage dumpster, in full view of most of the rooms conveniently located just behind the low, cracked wall surrounding the pool, only added to the derelict effect. When we informed the front desk that we had gone without hot water for the past two days, their form of apology was to report that the boiler had been fixed just that very same morning that we were checking out. In fact, they were so gracious and apologetic as to offer to delete the mandatory safe charge that we were never informed of, and did not use. When we stated that we never even used the safe, their thoughtful reply was that it did not matter; everyone was charged just the same. How very egalitarian of them! Before recommending the Sea Club to another unsuspecting tourist, I would advise bringing extra allergy medication, along with a toiletry bag so that you can shower on the beach. In addition, it would behoove you to have the same immunizations that one would take before visiting any third world nation, and of course, don't forget to bring your concealed weapon permit along with the "heat' of your choice.

While arriving I realized I was in flop house when I overheard the clerk asking guests if he could hook them up with some good blow. As for the lobby, I saw a rat run across the floor while I was sitting near the birdcage. I advised the general manager that my room was dirty upon arrival with hairs in the sink, blood stains on my sheets, and someone used the toliet, as it was not flushed. The guy who was the manager named michael mann, was very rude and arrogant with me. He said in a think accent, there is NO compensation here! that is our policy! I can't believe this rude guy is the manager the way he was acting in front of my wife. Believe me, this place is horrible. The rooms are disgusting, the staff really don't care, they have a rodent problem that they don't care to address. I have contacted the board of health in south florida regarding this dump. This hotel MUST be shut down immediately for the sake of cleanliness. It is a filthy mess. There are flop houses in third world countries that are cleaner than this place! Don't be fooled by the cheap prices. Avoid this place at all cost!

The worst. The worst thing for someone who is OCD - like me - is sitting on the toilet - relaxing - and watching a herd of roaches the size of elephants stroll by my feet. Disgusting. These guys had to have saddles with people riding on their backs.

The food in the restaurant was hairy. The chef must be a woman with long black hair as I so aptly came to know while pulling a long folicle from my mouth. I recommend either a hairnet, haircut, or get a new chef!!!

It would be great if they had a Nobu, but I'm not sure a Nobu in a hotel which has roaches with saddles would do well.

Not a place for those who are obsessive compulsive about cleanliness.
