I wrote a review here in January and thought I'd give you an update,since I am in this hotel again FOR THE LAST TIME.
Our biggest complaint ? The room was done twice in 6 days. Like the other reviewer,when I called & asked why the room wasnt done,the answer was : "Did you leave the do not disturb sign up" ? Not all day we didnt,but then again I didnt realize we needed to be out of the room by 8am and not back before 7pm if we wanted the room done. I doubt the sheets were changed even once. And to top it off the staff at the front desk was extremely rude. Sorry, I do not pay $100 a night or more to make my own bed. I guess I should have used the laundry room to wash and dry the towels,too.
Additionally, the beach elevator (that goes straight outside) was down for the entire length of our stay.This is one of the main assets of this hotel, since it goes straight to the beach/pool.Without it, you need to cross the lobby in your wet bathing suit and towel to get back to your (dirty) room.

This was our 4th time here and we wont be back. There are many hotels in Ft Lauderdale that are far better for that price range.

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 days in June. Was much better than I expected. Our room was very clean and yes, the maid cleaned it every day. The refrigerators are dorm size and are in a cabinet. If you take them out of the cabinet and plug it in elsewhere your refrigerator will get very cold! (When they are in a cabinet no air can get to the backside of the refrigerator and thus the inside of the refrigerator does not get cold.) Just try it and find out. The only thing I was disappointed in was the balcony. They are not private and people can duck under the 2X4 divider and come to your balcony. (We never had anyone do that but if you aren't on the balcony definately keep your balcony door locked.) Loved the room safes and the in room ironing boards and irons. Everyone was very friendly and the pool and deck was very nice and clean. What a view of the ocean! Loved it and hated to leave. Many restaurants and a big grocery store a block away.

Visited the area the first week in July. Better than expected? Absolutely! For the price that we paid, which I suggest you booking in a package deal (car/hotel/airfare), you will not be able to beat the stay. Was able to check in earlier than expected due to the early arrival of our flight, and instead of driving around until check-in, the staff allowed for us to get the room several hours above schedule at no additional costs. Second, the view was breath taking. It's called a side-view, or partial view, however it is still enough for you to soak in the florida sun, sit out and watch the sunrise, and to enjoy some view of the beach life. The room was clean, bathroom was the nicest area in the room. The maid staff did not clean the room the first nite, however I believe it was due to my error, (i remembered the next day to remove the do not disturb sign). Drinks at the hotel Tiki-Bar was rather expensive, but uh, come on, its Florida, not some local bar in West Virginia so you expect there to be some sort of price inflation. Lobby was beautiful, the area that the hotel was located in was nice. Hotel is located in an area with other quant hotels with beaches crowded enough for you to enjoy the florida life, however personalized enough to enjoy a romantic rest on the beach. I suggest renting a car to get around to local attractions, and I would say that if you stayed at any of the major hotels along the strip. Overall the stay was wonderful, and I would definitely see myself staying at the Ramada Resort on my second visit to Fort Lauderdale.

1. The lobby is beautiful, but do not be fooled!!!

2. Maid NEVER cleaned our room on the first morning and when I called to ask why, the man at the front desk was like, "did you put the do not disturb sign up?" Yeah right buddy, we like to use wet towels for the next time we shower, and I would have loved clean sheets for my next night's sleep.

3. The MATRESSES were HORRIBLE, my ribs still hurt.

4. There were "little friends" flying around the room the whole time. Don't sleep with your mouth closed!!!!!

5. The tub was backed up after my shower, gross!!! Had to put my hand in there to try and jiggle the stopper. Still nothing! So, I called and the engineer came right up and fixed it!!

6. The outside is beautiful, drinks at the bar are very expensive!!!!
The pool is nice, but too warm!!

7. The elevators don't always close, Scary thought ehhh!!!

8. This is not a hotel that is in anyway affiliated with the RAMADA!!!
GO FIGURE!!!

9. You are out in nowhere's land, so rent a car!!!! Don't walk for hours like
we did. And then take the buses and taxi's. It get's too expensive.

10, And to boot, the hotel employees don't give a crap if you were happy or not. Go elsewhere, do yourselves a HUGE favor!!! What a RIP-OFF!!!!
