Do not stay at this hotel! Please, heed the warnings of the others who
have gone before you. We wish that we had.

Here is the low down. First of all, don't be fooled by the lobby. If
you look closely, however, you will notice that the "A" in the Ramada
sign is burned out and the windows of the hotel are filthy.

The restaurant, is rather unclean and when we sat down for breakfast on our first day, my husband picked up his coffee cup only to find that it was unclean with an empty package of sugar glued to the inside of the cup. The chairs in the dining room were filthy with food splattered several of them.

Our room was marginally clean but very unappealing. The kitchen sink
was tiny and there was no place to put any toiltetries with the
exception of our tooth brushes and a tube of tooth paste. The bathing
facilities were very unsatisfactory. It appears that the bathtub had
been ripped out of the former bathtub/shower and a tattered shower
curtain with a hole in it took the place of the shower door.

The beds were absolutely the worst we have ever slept on. The matress
was soft in the middle and hard on the edges. The sheets had definately
seen better days and were nubby from being washed and washed and
washed.

The pool area is rather decent but not worth putting up with the rest.

In summary: STAY AWAY!!!! STAY AWAY!!

I am deeply upset by the terrible service- When we arrived to check in on Wed, 3/10, there was a gentleman guest confronting the front desk employees about a missing $100 from his room, to which they responded by contacting security and escorting him out. The following day, we left a "do not disturb" sign on the door, and when we returned from the beach in the early afternoon (@ 2:00pm), housekeeping was in my room and had moved my cousin's possessions off her bed onto mine to make the bed and clearly acknowledged the sign on the door when we confronted her, but said "she needed to replace our coffee mugs in the room". I also requested a 5:00am wake up call (on Friday afternoon) for the morning of Saturday, 3/13 as well as set the alarm on the clock in the room (I had a 7:10am flight), and I received neither the wake up call nor did the alarm go off at all (it was absolutely set correctly). I had even called the front desk late Friday evening to confirm the wake up call at 5:00am. I woke up at 6:00am, called the front desk for a cab, and they said there would be one in 5 minutes or by the time I got down to the front entrance. I waited for 15 minutes, and went back to the Front Desk and the employee insisted he called the taxi. I waited another five minutes, and called the taxi myself (954.777.7777) who said there was no record of a call from my hotel for a pickup. Needless to say, I missed my flight and I will recommend to everyone that I know that they do not stay at that location nor do business with Ramada altogether. I work for a large academic institution in which I plan international meetings and symposiums, and the treatment we received was disgraceful and unprofessional.

We stayed at the hotel in mid-February. We specifically picked this hotel for the price and because it was on the beach. One of the only ones in that specific are that is. The staff was very friendly, the room always cleaned and well stocked, and came with the added bonuses of a microwave, coffee pot and refrigerator. This is not a 5 star hotel, but then you don t pay for that either. This is a decent value for the money spent. It has a great beach, nice pool and a wonderful extra large hot tub. The hotel was designed so that each room could have a partial ocean view off its balcony. The Polo lounge there at the hotel is a great party spot for the 50 plus crowd, great live music and some very good dancers. The bartenders are proficient, the drinks well poured; and our favorite waitress Lisa had our drinks memorized by the second round. She was always cheerful and efficient no matter how busy she got. And it does heat up in there after about 10 p.m. The hotel does have a couple of draw backs. Unfortunately, on one side of the hotel is the laundry room, so that rooms on that side have the minor annoyance of the dryer fans. The other side of the hotel has the late night sounds from the lounge. We opted for the dryer side and didn t find it that much of a distraction. Ask for a room above the 6th floor. I didn t care for the breakfast buffet at the hotel but we gave the restaurant one more try and had a very nice dinner. If like us, you arrive by taxi, there is a great car rental place just down the street next to Walgreen s. Lauderdale by the Sea, ask for Mark. We got a great deal on a convertible. Galt Drive is a quiet tree lined street, a nice place to walk. Like I said, the value was worth what was paid. Enjoy your stay!
