We stayed in Diane's condo #816 last Spring and already have it booked for next Spring. The condo is lovely with two bedrooms (with large beds, none of that twin bed stuff!) two baths, nice furnishings, a telescope, and a great view. Everything you need is there! Diane is a wonderful hostess and goes out of her way to make sure that you are happy with the accomodations. While the Ocean Manor itself has some problems... elevators, internet access, laundry in the basement,...we absolutely loved the pool and the beach! The beach is one of our favorites in all of Florida and we've been to many. We also enjoyed breakfast at the pool side cafe overlooking the ocean. And umbrellas and loungers on the beach are very reasonable. Most of the hotels in Ft. Lauderdale are across the road from the beach, but not Ocean Manor. Also, it is very close to many restaurants, the grocery, and shopping. Just thinking about it makes me wish April was here!

to start with, i didn't find the staff friendly and accomodating at all from the time i checked- in to the morning that i checked out. the guy at the front desk was charging me for 2 phone calls that i didn't make. i have to point out to him that the only phone call i made was when i called the operator to request for a wake up call. and nobody called to wake me up the next day.

valet parking is $5 per day, but of course, everytime you asks for your car the staff expects for a tip.

the room is nice and comfortable for the price that i paid for. it's newly renovated. good hardwood floors. but, it seems that they forgot to fix the bathroom door. it barely closes and hard to open. no alarm clock available. tv remote control is not working.

We stayed at the Ocean Manor in Aug 06 in a private condo, 2 bdrms, 2 baths. We found it on Vacation Rentals #4304. It was absolutely one of the best vacations we have had in a long time. We needed time to do nothing and that is exactly what we did. Everything is very convenient, even a grocery across the street. We swam in the pool and in the ocean, rented a wave runner next door, sat on the balcony and dreamed. Debbie took care of us completely. The unit was clean and we had no complaints at all. We heard all the other bad reviews but they have to do with the hotel part of this building not the condo part. Give it a try you will love every minute.

My family stayed in Diane's condo, #816, for a week in August. I see from some posts that the building has received some negatives but I can't say enough good things about this condo - decorated so nicely, clean, everything working, and a million dollar view right on the beach.
