We stayed for 1 night on Labor Day Weekend, great location right on the beach! Fun tiki bar, nice pool, overall looks like in its heyday it was a great place, still has a lot of potential BUT-- In our living room, ducts were dirty, lots of chipped paint, and carpet had many dirty spots, all in all it needed a good cleaning. Our bed was very, very comfortable. With a little work this could be a great place again.

I stayed at the Ocean Manor for five days starting on August 19, 2008 through a flight and hotel deal on Orbitz.com. The price was great partially because it was hurricane season, however the reviews also made me quite nervous. Upon arrival I quickly realized that the Ocean Manor was not too bad. Our room was clean, nothing fancy, but fine for the price. The view, pool, Tiki bar, BBQ meals, and beach front were amazing. These things made it worth every penny (great price). The staff was not helpful at all and really not friendly though. Customer service would not be their strongest trait. The prices for food, drinks, and lounge chairs on the beach (the ones by the pool were free) were pretty high. The location of the hotel was okay. There was a grocery store within walking distance, but not very many restaurants. You could take a taxi or the bus. However the staff had not clue about a bus schedule and made no offer to help us figure it out. I would stay there again because of the price and beach/pool, but I would not expect anything great.

I booked this hotel through a Hotwire bid, and at first I thought I got a great deal. The looking looked great and upscale when you first walk in! But then I checked into my room and it became a horror story. I killed 5 roaches the night I was there. The rooms are old and dated. The walls are so thin I could here everything the people did in the next room. I got no sleep because the bed kept sinking in the middle. I asked for another room but they claimed that they were full. This was hard to believe since I was there when hurricane Ike was coming! This room was booked for 2 nights, but I just left on the first night and when to the Hampton Inn, where I should have went in the first place. I just lost the money for the 2nd night and I was happy to since the hotel was such a dump! Not to mention that I had to give me credit card for check in, and they charged me for the rooms when it had already been paid for through Hotwire! Never again.....

I was there during Hurricane Faye a week ago. They prepared for the hurricane a day before they had everything in place. Staff was helpful and courteous. They even moved tiki bar inside during hurricane and had a hurricane party. This hotel was awesome. I call this my 5 star hotel, the room i was in was an efficenticy suite. It was a beautiful 1 bedroom, and was awesome oceanview breathe taking. I highly recommend this beachfront hotel.
