We were supposed to stay at The Ocean Manor Resort Hotel from July 7- July 14. That did not happen. We arrived at the hotel and realized that every time you come in or out of the hotel you must use valet parking which was $8 a day! We then walk into the lobby, and it seems that they do not even have air conditioning, and there was a terrible smell! We wait about 10 minutes until finally someone comes to the front desk. We go to the elevators and one of them is broken. We arrive at the room and the door has some sort of mold or rust all over it. We open the door and could not believe our eyes. We could have almost cried. It was the smallest and grossest place ever! The beds were about 6 inches apart from each other. The tv did not even fit in the armoir. The sliding door opened on the side of the bed, so you could barely squeeze out of it to get to the balcony. Once you get to the balcony, you realize that you are sharing the balcony with 2 other rooms! The shower was just..ughh! The curtains were very dirty on the bottom. The toilet paper holder was broken. The tiki bar and lobby were filled with young drunks that were out of control. Needless to say, the very next morning, we checked out. We will NOT be back!

We just got back from a july 10-14th trip. We booked our room through their website. Upon arival we were told our credit card was never charged, which we thought it was. The front desk guy, George was quite rude about this ordeal and he got his supervisor who was actually pretty nice about the ordeal and they upgraded our room to an ocean view for the ordeal. The tiki bar and pool are literally right on the beach, which is very nice. The tiki bar food and drinks are good but a bit pricey (3.50 for a beer, 9 bucks for a pina colada!) There is a mcdonalds, winn dixie, dunkin doughnuts, and a few small resturants right there within a 5 minute walk, which is nice. Downtown is about a 10-15 minute car ride. If you want to go on the beach, you can't bring your own drinks, and if you want to sit you have to rent a beach chair and unbrella (chairs $3, umbrellas $10) One night after we ate, my girlfriend went to shake her bathing suit out after we left it dry onthe balcony, and a cockroach came crawling out of her bathing suit. This freaked her out, but I was just glad it was not in the room. Overall, the service, to me, was just ok, the room was pretty clean, and the Tiki Bar, pool, and the fact you are right on the beach are the only upsides to this hotel. The gift shop prices are rediculous (we needed a bottle opener and it cost me 7$!)

We flew into Florida on July 4th from Seattle, so we were a little tired to say the least. Having booked our room with the owner, checking in was a breeze, just asked for the key and away we went. Our room was just as stated on VRBO. Small but clean, just what my husband and I wanted.

We decided to go check out the Tiki Bar and pool area even though it was pretty late. Everyone in the bar was HAMMERED! Falling down drunk. There was an onsite bouncer working the scene as well and a security guard. Now, I understood that it was the 4th of July and all, but come on, these people couldn't even stand up! The bouncer was swearing at the guests and all that bouncer stuff. It just didn't seem right in a hotel bar.

We drove to Daytona the next day so we weren't around until later Sunday. We headed down to the pool to lay out in the sun and go swimming. The place was packed, the pool was thilthy. And I mean DIRTY, GROSS, MILKY, I'm sure everyone was peeing in the dang thing, garbage, hairballs, you name it. food, napkins, plastic cups and chip bags.

We ordered drinks, a little liquid courage incase I considered getting into the giant toilet they called a pool. I started talking to a gal that was in a chair next to me. She wasn't there on vacation, she lived down the street, but didn't have a pool at her house so she just drove to the Ocean Manor on her day's off to swim and lay out! (wtf) Isn't the pool for the guest?

Ocean Manor seems to be more of a place for the locals to hang out and party. We saw many men come in after work and have drinks before heading home or whatever.

The beach wasn't much better. The water was fabulous, the sand was nice and white, if it hadn't been for all the cigarette butts all over the place, it would have been a great place to hang out.

Oh and the Valet Parking! Yeh, right. I wouldn't let these kids ride my bike let alone park a rental car that I am paying for and if anything happens to, I get to foot the bill. We parked in the lot across the street our selves and walked.

The a/c went out one night..THAT WAS FUN!!!! You think it gets muggy outside. Everything was damp in our room. Taking a shower, The water takes a good 5 minutes or better to get WARM. AND once it finally does, you have to man the hot and cold during your whole shower so you don't get burned if some one on the 6th floor flushes the toilet. No kidding!

Needless to say, we put 1,200 miles on a rental car! We drove all over eastern Florida. I now understand what they mean when they call it the "Dirty South" come on folks, you have a beautiful state but you litter all over the place. We saw people tossing out empty bottles, fast food bags among other things, right out on the street. No cares, just get rid of the trash. YUCK and shame on you.

All in all, If I ever go back, I would NEVER stay at the Ocean Manor again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't stay here. It's just not worth it, even at a bargain price.

Spent a week at the Ocean Manor Resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL and had a blast. The staff is very friendly and treated us like queens. There's a great view of the ocean and the Tiki bar is always a good time. The hotel is located near restaurants and stores. Room service is available as needed or the staff will simply provide you with items as needed if you like your privacy during your stay. Will most certainly stay there again during next visit!

My husband and I needed to get away for a few days and headed to Ft. Lauderdale from 6/5-6/9. We were looking for a relaxing place where we would be steps from the beach, pool, bar and/or restaurant. AND we didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on this smaller vacation...and we didn't!
We stayed at the Ocean Manor in Fort Lauderdale and LOVED IT! Despite mixed reviews online, we truly loved it there and will definitely be back. The pool is pretty big and well-kept. And the ocean is literally just steps away from the pool and tiki bar (which serves food and alcohol pretty much all day/night). We rented a car, but really didn't need one because we didn't really leave the hotel - you don't need to leave, everything is there. Many locals visit the tiki bar and told us that this was "the place to be" since it stays open until 3am.
The hotel staff was great, especially the bartenders. They remembered not only who you were, but what you drank - pretty cool, if you ask me!

Oh, and the rooms were very clean, in good condition, and were spacious. We loved the fact that the room comes with a frig!!
We absolutely were thrilled with our stay and cannot wait to return.
