“Great for a pre-cruise overnight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Stayed for an overnight before leaving on a cruise. Large, comfy rooms at competitive prices, with free breakfast included. Did not take advantage of the cruise port shuttle, but was pleased to know it was there. One fast food place right outside the main entrance, with a shopping center half a block further down. Breakfast was great, with excellent quality. My only complaint is over the toaster at breakfast: there's a single two-slot toaster for the whole hotel, so be prepared to wait for your toast.

My husband and I spent one night here before our cruise. They have an airport shuttle which was great. They have a cruise port shuttle for $8 per person and a taxi cost about $20 with the tip. It also has a little plaza right around the corner with restaurants and a grocery store. Our room was clean but the room smelled musty. Unfortunately we were on the bottom floor and could not open the window for security reasons. The staff was great, very helpful. They also have breakfast in the am and coffee 24/7.

It was a great spot to stay. We had a late flight and were leaving the next morning for a curise. Did not want to pay alot for a short stay, was very pleased at the quility of the place for the price we paid.

We booked two rooms at the Best Western Airport/Cruiseport in Fort Lauderdale because of its proximity to both the airport and the cruise port and because of the reasonableness of its prices. What we needed was a good room at a location that gave us easy access from where we were coming from (the airport) and where we were going to (the cruise port) and a decent breakfast to get the day started right. This hotel not only met our needs but exceeded our expectations. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection of fruits, cereals, eggs, pancakes, coffee/teas/juices and pastries. The fruits (bananas, oranges, apples) put out by staff ran out quickly and weren't replaced at the breakfast area (but these were given to us once we specifically asked for more). We were a little disappointed by the juice (which tasted more like water than juice) but we were otherwise pleased. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the Fort Lauderdale International Airport. We found the driver to be courteous and helpful. We were disappointed that the shuttle to the cruise port wasn't also complimentary. But the cost isn't so high as to be prohibitive (this service is $8 per person). However, this didn't really affect us as we had arrived an extra day early to see the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area and had already booked a rental car in advance; so we just decided to use our rental car to get to port. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooms come equipped with a microwave (a little outdated however), a refrigerator (bigger than we expected) and an iron (as important appliance for us to ensure our clothes are wrinkle-free since our cruise ship didn't allow guests to use an iron on-board; my family is fanatical about ironing, so it really felt like a godsend for us. :) ) We slept great and felt refreshed in the morning. The temperature control settings were easy to use (unlike a stay I had at a Sheraton a few weeks previously). The staff was very friendly and attentive. Although we were one of many families staying that weekend, we felt that our needs were valued. The hotel appeared to be well maintained and managed. It offers a combination of good price, good service and comfort. If I am in the area again, it will be likely that I would stay here.

Stayed at this hotel between flights both before and after a trip to St. Maarten. Shuttle pick up and drop off was efficient, room was very clean with comfortable bed. Air conditioning in first room was extremely noisy and when we turned it off, we could hear the air conditioner in the next room. The second room we had on the ground floor, the air conditioner was fine. Good quality breakfast items offered for a continental breakfast - hot and cold items, juice, coffee and tea. Staff were pleasant and friendly and went out of their way to help us retrieve our flight and vacation documents that we left behind in our room and made a special delivery to the airport for us.

Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. It was what we expect from a Best Western and we were happy with our stay. The reception staff were friendly. We spent a morning by the pool before driving down to the Dolphins game in Miami - the pool area was quiet and clean so we enjoyed that. The hotel is obviously used a lot by people heading to the cruise port and it seems like a good location with a shuttle to the port. There is plenty of parking and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within a mile or so. Not the prettiest of locations on a busy main road but it was fine for us.
