We spend 5 nights at this hotel after a week in Orlando and then on to one week in Clearwater. The hotel has just been redecorated with nice furnishings etc but the choice of colours etc in the corridors take away from the appearance. However this aside - the rooms were OK - plenty of towels etc provided and the beds comfy. The free breakfast was a bonus - good selection for most tastes. The pool didn't look too clean in the evenings but my kids say they saw it being cleaned regularly. The location was very good for the beach and the beach was excellent for the kids - safe enough etc. There were good eating places nearby such as the Quarter Deck (20 mins walk). It was very dark walking back to the hotel past the beach in the evenings. The staff were not as friendly as those in the other hotels we stayed in and some were very frosty and unhelpful. I asked reception if they had any information on the local river taxi service and I got a straight "no" - while the leaflet was right beside the staff. (In Orlando and Clearwater the hotel staff couldn't do enough for you). Overall we enjoyed our stay in Fort Lauderdale - I was a bit disappointed with the hotel - the room and food were fine but the reception staff dont go out of their way to make you feel very welcome - 5 days were enough - perhaps a course in customer care for the reception staff would be benificial to this hotel
