I spent my last two 4th of July weekends here . Clean , No bugs , I haven't a clue where the one review came from about ants, but I didn't see any. The staff is polite and friendly. The breakfast is free, and Its a huge selection .. Not the cheap cont. breakfast at all. The pool is clean . The beach is a few hundred feet if that! I could see the ocean from my balcony! Both times here its been good, I know there is better, but you pay more.. Good deal for the money! If iI had money too waste I would go the other places .. but this is Upperclass ! not snooty but good

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights and had a great time. The front desk staff was great - "Go Marlin". Every staff member we met was nice, friendly, helpful. GREAT! The room was clean when we arrived and cleaned everyday - no mold, no ants, no wet carpet, Hot water was available at all times of the day. The breakfast was great, different hot items each morning-not conteniental, more buffet. The pool was nicely heated and plenty of chairs for everyone. The beach is behind another hotel, you walk around the corner and you are at the beach, volley ball courts, grills, bar from adjacent hotel, chair rentals, etc.
The hotel is showing its age in the corridors. The salt air is taking a toll on the door frames and paint on the interior walls but this does not take away from the location, the great staff, and clean, comfortable rooms.
FYI - grab coupon books in the lobby, there are some great deals/info in them.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights 12/10-12/15 and loved it. This is an older building compared to others in the area, but it doesn't matter, as they renovated recently and it looks good overall.
First, the PROs... Only 200ft from the beach, continental breakfast 7-10:30am, 2-story parking (under hotel), heated pool, lounge/bar with pool table, balcony (although shared), located close to restaurants and shops, microwave/tv/fridge/safe in each room, free wi-fi.
Now the CONs... All rooms have two double beds, drinks at the bar are expensive ($4/beer), none of the rooms look toward the ocean, elevators ARE a bit slow.
This is what a decent hotel in FL looks like. People who leave bad reviews are those who overpaid and expect a 5-star service here. Customer service is bad in the whole state, so don't take it personally. We didn't see any bugs in the hotel, an it was clean everywhere we've been. 5 bucks to park is comparatively cheap and you'll find plenty of parking during the day. Balconies are shared and can be accessed by anyone from inside the hotel, this is bad because you can't leave belongings on the balcony, and good because you can go up to the fifth floor and see the sunset and a little bit of the ocean. Because the hotel is surrounded by new taller condos, there is not much of a view, especially of the ocean. If you experience any problems with the hotel, it's probably an abnormality, as we had none. This IS a 3-star hotel, so if you're not too picky, you'll love it.

We loved the Oceanside! We went with our two young kids and the room with an individual deck was perfect for us (although most are shared).
Plus, we had a view of the ocean, well between two buildings, but we could see it! The room was clean, the fridge and microwave were helpful in saving some money, the breakfast was large and great, overall the staff were generally friendly and helpful, and the location was fine for us. A quick walk around the back of the building
to the beach. A bit of a walk, or short cab ride, to get food. Also, the Yankee Clipper next door was great. They have a small snack shop, so we could get sandwiches and drinks there. Also, we were able to pay for the seats in their beachfront area. I don't know if we were supposed to, but we did, and it was great to have the service. The pool was clean and not too crowded. My older daughter enjoyed pool games with some European children. We ordered in most nights and ate by the pool, enjoying some drinks from the bar, and used the leftovers
for lunch the next day. Great way to save some money.

I was surprised to see the negative experiences from those who have stayed this fall. We're heading back in a couple weeks, so we're hoping for the same great experience we had last time.
