“Nice Hotel as long as you are not a smoker”

I stayed last night for a single night business trip. The room was nice, great ocean view. The pool and lazy river were nothing special, lots of chemicals in the water. The reason I chose this hotel was to get a nice ocean view patio to enjoy a cigar on. I had looked on the net when making my choice but didn't chatch the no smoking part. When you check in they make you sign a form that says they will fine you $250.00 per each time they catch you smoking on the premesis (including outside and on your ocean front balcony). They also ask that you please report any smoke if you smell it from your balcony. That's the reason I won't personally stay here again, however if I was a family looking for a smoke free environment, that could be a plus.

“Great Hotel for a Young Family”

We just returned from our 4 night stay at the Pelican Beach with 2 young kids 3years and 11 months. We were pleasantly surprised with the spacious rooms, beautiful location, and on-site amenities. Our children particularly enjoyed the saltwater pool and quiet beach. Room was clean and bright with a great ocean view balcony. Particularly handy was the microwave and fridge for the kids. As for service, it was friendly and attentive, although the concierge was not that easy to locate at times. Fantastic views of the ocean from their veranda restaurant and poolside lounge. We would definitely return for another stay!

We stayed 9 nights and were very pleased with the location, staff as well as the resort itself. After reading some of the negative reviews on the staff in particular, I was some what apprehensive at making reservations but delightfully suprised with the staff as well as the entire trip. We felt that anything we needed to make our trip special they would have done or helped us make it happen. We have talked about returning next year for spring break and can't wait! Hats off to the staff and wow what a great trip! Highly recommended!

Fabulous resort compares to a Disney resort in style. We reserved back in January, but started to get nervous reading some reviews. What were you people looking for? This place was perfect in every way. Our family of 3 had a king suite located on the seventh floor. The view from our baloncy was wonderful. The "see-thru" design of the hotel is very unique. Check out the top level - floor 11
Everyone who worked there was very pleasant and helpful. We encountered front desk, concierre service, restaurant staff, bartenders, ice cream girls, maids, maintenance (our tub was slow, we called, he was there in less then 5 minutes, had it fixed in less then 10 minutes) pool guy (that does towels), beach guy (that does umbrellas) and valet (which we almost never use on trips, but must admit it was quite nice). They were all friendly.
John Deere beach sweepers cleaned the beach every morning and the ocean water is clear and beautiful.
Ice cream parlor doubles as a gift shop. Took advantage of internet with 2 computers at least once every day.
Plenty to do within a short drive. Trip to the Everglades was fantastic, as was snorkeling
100 yards right off our shore.
Lulutoo's advise was right on!

Fabulous hotel right on the ocean. Our family of 5 had a double king suite located on the second floor with baloncy and views to the water. All staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Great hotel for families--lazy river is a hit and the ocean water is beautiful blue/green. Beachfront is cleaned every morning. Ice cream shop is a nice treat. Hotel features lovely veranda with seating to view ocean. Took advantage of complimentary internet daily. Valet parking not a problem--you might have to wait a few minutes but doorside service is convenient. Not within walking distance to Beach Place, etc., but only a short drive to Las Olas Bvld. and Cheescake Factory for dinner (excellent service and great food). Drove to Key Largo to John Pennekamp State Park--took snorkel trip out to coral reef--this is a definite to do. Miami Seaquarium also a great time. I highly recommend this hotel and would defnitely return again!
