Great vacation. We got there June 11th for a 5 night stay. We had gotten there and they gave us a room upgrade! Room 804...oceanfront, great balcony, big room...loved it! The staff was great there. Very concerned that everything was good with the stay, the staff, the food, etc. The veranda was so relaxing to sit on at night. And the lazy river...couldn't get enough of that. It was just all together the best trip to FL I've ever had. Nice beach to go along with it and clear water!! Can't wait to go back!

We just stayed 4 days at the pelican beach resort and loved every minute of it. Rooms were great and totally coomfy. Staff excellent. Prices high on bar drinks-martini $10! Lazy river incredibly small, but still fun we are going back in 2 weeks for business and can not wait! I love being right on the ocean and everything from towels to lounges provided for you at no addtional charge!

We stayed at Pelican Beach 6/15/05-06/18/05. It is a nice resort for Fort Lauderdale! Right on the beach! There is alot of beach erosion, so you cannot compare it to places further north. The water was beautiful and the view from the porch was breathtaking. There is nothing really within walking distance, so be prepared to spend some money! Food was mid priced, large portions, drinks are overpriced and tips willl really add up! But remember you are in Fort Lauderdale and it's not cheap. Valet parking was good, car was always there within minutes. Staff was very accomodating, even ordered pizza one night and they came to get us on the pool deck. Overall a great stay. It will be better when ice cream parlor opens for the kids, but I'm sure it will be pricey!

My partner and I just finished a 3 night stay at the Pelican Beach Resort. We were looking forward to a "Sit on the beach/at the pool" vacation! The resort is beautiful, and the suites are roomy with AWESOME views of the ocean.

Because the resort is not in the neighborhood of shops/grocery stores/restaurants.... we had to take EXPENSIVE taxi rides. BUT- at no time did the staff at the hotel let us know that a city bus would take us directly to the shops/grocery stores/and restaurants for only 1 DOLLAR each way. We had to figure this out for ourselves. Get a bus schedule and it will take you right up and down the main street.

We loved the lazy river & the clean beach. You don't need to pack towels because the hotel has them there for the guests. The front porch with rocking chairs & fresh popcorn was very nice as well.

Another suggestion- The hotel should have room service menus in the rooms with other food options as well (take out pizza, chinese, etc.)
