If you want a 1 or 2 star motel with a resort-size pool, this may be for you. As for me (and I stay at Best Westerns frequently), I found this place very disappointing and uninviting.
First, it has the markings of a has-been resort---moldy smells, chipped paint, understaffed, undermaintained facilities, etc.
Second, it was not very clean during my 3 day stay---the elevators are unventilated and they smelled (didn't seem to be cleaned during my 3 day stay), the long hallway to my room was filthy with the same debris remaining on the carpet, the sliding glass door in my room was so disgustingly dirty (both inside and out) with dead bugs and food stains that I had to clean it myself the first night because my wife and I were so grossed out, and housecleaning didn't clean our room one day even though we were gone from 11:30am to 4:30pm.
Third, some of the staff was unhelpful and rude. E.g., when we arrived we were told at check-in that we had limited room options "with that rate" !!?? (We had reserved online with BW w/o any sense that we were reserving a budget room.), and when I reported that our room had not been cleaned I was treated like an outlaw because the "do not disturb" sign was on the door in the morning. (We had removed the sign at 11:30am and left the room until 4:30pm; the housecleaners were available during that time.)
There is more. But suffice it to say that this was an unsatisfactory stay. The whole place (except for a couple of nice staff people) was pretty creepy and crudy.

After hearing about this place I had decided to look over the reviews to see what people had to say. After reading them I have decided against staying at this place. Everyone seemed to say the same things. Rude employees, food outside doors all day, faulty plumbing, and dirty rooms. After calling the place to speak to someone about this just to feel out the help I was put on hold for almost 20 minutes. Then when someone came on they basically told me that if I want to judge for myself then make a reservation but they do not have time to waste to answer my questions based on reviews I have seen on the internet. When I asked why they would talk to a potential customer this way their response was because you should not believe everything you read and if you do then you are a fool. I think everyone should steer clear of this place. Keep on looking. You may pay a little bit more but it will be worth the better service.

We stayed twice at the Best Western Rolling Hills resort in Ft. Lauderdale in February, 2005.

The hotel is very nice and clean. The pool is spectacular with a beautiful waterfall. There are not enough lounge chairs though. Our room was very comfortable, however, the air conditioner was the loudest I have ever heard. It would come on with a bang in the middle of the night and wake everybody up. It was too hot to turn it off.

The complimentary continental breakfast was the best I have ever had. It offers everything you could want except hot food.

Front desk service would probably benefit from a customer service course.
Overall, this is a good hotel at a reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again, but request a room with a less noisy air conditioner!

We found the staff to be very rude and non-caring about anything. Hallways were dirty, there was consantly food service treys left in the halls with food that was not eaten literally all day long. We would leave in the morning and would come back in the late afternoon and the food would still be sitting in the hallways. It was rather disgusting. Elevator and shuffle service pretty much sucked. The elevators were very small and old and took forever to get to your floor. The only thing nice about the hotel was the pool but I bet even that was dirty if you looked close enough. The hot tub was one of the nastiest I've ever seen. We had people in ou group complain of dirty rooms, bad beds, backed up toilets, bad service. I don't think anyone in our group will be back to this hotel. No compansation was given for anything, staff is almost impossible to deal with. Even if the hotel was cleaner and nicer, I don't think I would go back just because of the staff.
