We recently stayed at this hotel before leaving on a cruise out of the Port of Miami. I had read the reviews and generally do not book Best Westerns. Since there were more positives than negative reviews I took a chance, plus I got a fantastic rate on Overstock ($69 per night). We couldn't have been more pleased with this hotel. It was extremely clean, the rooms were great, beds very comfortable, we had a great view of the pool and waterfall. The continental breakfast was one of the nicest I have had. For $3 additional you could have eggs/bacon/french toast, ect. but the free breakfast was plenty. I particularly liked the location, just off the main road with loads of restaurants, and stores. It was a short 40 min. ride to the pier. They offered a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel but we arrived at 11pm and it was done at 10:45. We ended up renting a car at the airport and dropping it off at the Miami airport and they had free shuttles to the pier. It was much cheaper than a limo and we had the use of the car.They do offer complimentary shuttles to the Port Everglades. We chose to fly into Fort Lauderdale because it was cheaper and a nicer place to stay than Miami. Feel free to email me. I just felt I had to write in because so many reviews said it wasn't poor and I felt the need to set the record straight.

We checked in, hoping that this property would look like the website....wrong! The rooms have not been updated in at least 10 years. The beds were harder than the floor and the bathroom was moldy with peeling plaster. I would not advise you to stay here until they renovate. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear EVERYTHING!

The staff at this resort was wonderful. Especially in the dining room. Room service had something to be desired....the waitor expected a gratuity even thought an 18% gratuity is included in your order. And do not order a mixed drink to be delivered to your room. They come watered down. The shuttle service left us at the airport 1 hour to be picked up....and is not always availble to take you to the shopping areas as advertised. It doesn't run before 8am so if you are here for an interview for NOVA University and it is before that time you will need to get a cab. The resort itself is beautiful...the pool is great....the rooms are average.

This hotel had wonderful staff. They were very helpful in everything from getting to Sawgrass Mills via shuttle to sending a fax to the frendliness of the housekeeping staff. Also the grounds are beautiful.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a relaxing stay.
