I spent 3 wonderful nights in this beautiful, sleek new hotel. The ICW view was wonderful from our 7th floor suite, which was roomy and well appointed. The staff was very helpful. The concierge recommended some great places and the drivers took us around in the Escalade. We enjoyed the pool and double lounges one afternoon. I have no complaints at all. I will certainly return.

Right off, I will say that I really really liked this hotel and I will definitely stay here again if fate ever returns me to Fort Lauderdale.
Only two things marred our stay: 1) We should have gotten an upgrade to the next suite level as when we booked our stay, this was promised as a special summer promotion. We mentioned it when we checked in, but she said that she was giving us the upgrade. As we were not sure, we didn't push the point, but as soon as we were back home, we checked and saw that we should have in fact had the next higher grade of room. Not a huge biggie, as we had only booked a 2-night stay, and our room was pretty awesome, except for 2) We had a partial Waterway view, which was true we saw some of the waterway, but we had a full-on view of the ginormous and noisy exhaust fan of the building directly in front of our balcony. Again, we could have, probably should have complained, but since we were only there 2 days, and it was a mid-way point thru our trip, we decided it wasn't worth the transfer of our heavy bags. But this should be taken as a warning to future guests.. Ask if you have a view of a truck-sized ventilator before going to your room.
Apart from these points, the hotel is firmly in the above average category. The suite was an excellent value and felt like a place I wouldn't mind living. Washing machine/dryer were a very appreciated amenity, as was the stocked kitchen (with full fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, microwave, stovetop). Everything was brand-spanking new. Free continental breakfast. Free WIFI. I loved the Bulgari shampoo and soap. Lots of TV channels. It all had the feel of a posh apartment high-rise instead of a hotel. I also found the style of the interior design, the layout and the overall feel incredibly comfortable and homey. It was esp nice to sit on the balcony in the balmy late afternoon with a beer watching the sunset (despite the drone of the imposing Fan). Plus, just a 20-minute drive from Sawgrass Mills Outlets, where you can spend all the money you saved.
I would recommend it for longer stays as the room rates are very good, and it's a place you'll be sad to leave.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel in August 2008 and had an amazing experience! I went on this website before staying at the hotel and when i read some of the reviews I got a little worried whether this hotel was going to be as bad as everything people said about it. Its not true!! we had dinner out every night on las olas which is about 10 minutes from the hotel. The hotel printed out menus to the restaurants that we were interested in,made the reservations and arranged the escalade to take us. I also read that they do not supply pot and pans in the room which is again not true they do supply them all you have to do is request them. The pool is not the biggest pool but is still a nice size its narrow and long. The staff treated us with tremendous respect. I highly recommend the inter coastal side of the hotel because you can see the city lights at night. It's very romantic! The restaurant in the hotel opens November 1st but there is room service and it is very good. Last but not least the beds are so comfortable, its like sleeping in a fluff. All in all we had a great time staying at this hotel and highly recommend it!

  • Liked — how they arranged the Escalade to take you where you wanted to go.
  • Disliked — if you didnt valet park your car you had to pay the meter which only could pay 3 hours at a time.

This is a beautiful, clean hotel with some luxurious extras that I really enjoyed. My room had an LCD HDTV, washer/dryer, private balcony, and a kitchen area that included a full-size refrigerator, stove top, dishwasher, microwave, and real plates, silverware, and glasses -- no plastic there!

The rear of the hotel has only a thin strip of land that borders the intracoastal waterway, but it has numerous lounge chairs surrounded by beautiful landscaping.

The cab ride from the airport was about $30 for two people, but we rarely needed a cab after we arrived. The hotel has two Escalades and will use them to take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. When you are ready to be picked up, call the concierge desk and they will send one to get you. The concierges were on staff from early in morning until fairly late at night -- always friendly and helpful.

The beach is a short walk away -- no more than 5 minutes. There is a pharmacy, and several restaurants and bars within walking distance.

I would definitely love to stay there again!

thebest kept secret in fort lauderdale, we stayed four outstanding days at this hotel. we were given a one bedroom ocean view, the rooms are about 1000 sqft and contains bedroom with king size bed balcony access, large closet with his & her bathrobes, a 32 inch flat panel tv with directv, access to the bathroom from both the kitchen & bedroom, large bathroom, living rm has a 37 in flat panel t.v bose wave radio, ipod docking station,washer/dryer, full kitchen with breakfast bar, kitchen table & chairs, living rm sofa with balcony access large balcony contains table with chairs, lounge chair & great view of the ocean.

great small lobby, candles lit in the evening always smelled very nice with great music, nice lounge cabana's overlooking the boatslips on the intercoastal waterway. this is what south florida should be about.

the staff was very polite & pleasant not phony or full of themselves like you would see at very many miami hotels (this always befuddled me). there were very many positives about this hotel, but if you want to be waited on with your hands & feet kissed this is not the place.
they provide airport pick-up in the caddy escalade for a fee, free transport to the beach & nearby mall. nice area of ft.lauderdale
the hotel sits next too some nice shops & cafe's. there is even a couple of nice bars in the area all within walking distance.

but beware they do charge 25.00 for parking but you can park on the street at the meters, it's no problem at all, just don't forget to feed the meters after 8am, it's only 20 cents per hr it's free after 6pm. yes they do come by(parking enforcement).
loved this hotel it's my new hang out when i come to south fla.
