Right off, I will say that I really really liked this hotel and I will definitely stay here again if fate ever returns me to Fort Lauderdale.
Only two things marred our stay: 1) We should have gotten an upgrade to the next suite level as when we booked our stay, this was promised as a special summer promotion. We mentioned it when we checked in, but she said that she was giving us the upgrade. As we were not sure, we didn't push the point, but as soon as we were back home, we checked and saw that we should have in fact had the next higher grade of room. Not a huge biggie, as we had only booked a 2-night stay, and our room was pretty awesome, except for 2) We had a partial Waterway view, which was true we saw some of the waterway, but we had a full-on view of the ginormous and noisy exhaust fan of the building directly in front of our balcony. Again, we could have, probably should have complained, but since we were only there 2 days, and it was a mid-way point thru our trip, we decided it wasn't worth the transfer of our heavy bags. But this should be taken as a warning to future guests.. Ask if you have a view of a truck-sized ventilator before going to your room.
Apart from these points, the hotel is firmly in the above average category. The suite was an excellent value and felt like a place I wouldn't mind living. Washing machine/dryer were a very appreciated amenity, as was the stocked kitchen (with full fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, microwave, stovetop). Everything was brand-spanking new. Free continental breakfast. Free WIFI. I loved the Bulgari shampoo and soap. Lots of TV channels. It all had the feel of a posh apartment high-rise instead of a hotel. I also found the style of the interior design, the layout and the overall feel incredibly comfortable and homey. It was esp nice to sit on the balcony in the balmy late afternoon with a beer watching the sunset (despite the drone of the imposing Fan). Plus, just a 20-minute drive from Sawgrass Mills Outlets, where you can spend all the money you saved.
I would recommend it for longer stays as the room rates are very good, and it's a place you'll be sad to leave.
