“Very nice hotel restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

We were guests at the hotel and enjoyed a very nice dinner. The service was a little slow, we ate inside and it seemed like they were short staffed. The food was excellent and much more creative than I expected from a hotel restaurant. Delicious!

“Culinary Delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

The Ritz was horrible on a whole but the Via Luna food across the board was delish! From the must have meatball appetizer to the chocolate nutella beignets I am still dreaming of the food taste and presentation were excellent.

“Change Of Pace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Wonderful, upscale experience just off A1A and the bar scene. Over the top service coupled with exquisitely prepare food. If you have "that one place" you intend to go while in Ft Lauderdale, this is it!

“All FIVES!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Upscale smart casual to formal. I’m pretty stingy with my FIVE star ratings. This one fully earned.
Not a real busy place. Open and airy, sorta dark. There is outdoor seating with an ocean view – but the street crowd can be kinda wild. Pace is a tiny bit slow, but not bothersome-ly so. Creative and moderately short menu.
Walked in at 8:00 pm on a Friday and were immediately seated.
Perfect service from waiter Anthony.
Wife read a review about some vegetable risotto that someone had – somewhere. Not on menu. Anthony didn't recall it ever being on the menu. Asked her some questions and told her he would accommodate. Her report: spectacular! Who does that at a five star restaurant?
Lamb vegetable soup of the day also spectacular.
My scallops and son’s (teenager) lamb chops were both outstanding.
Desert is not to be skipped. Cheesecake and a fried banana dish = to die for.
Presentation was superior and entrée food accents were creatively delicious.
Portions were very adequate without being overwhelming.
Can you tell I really like this place? I really, really like this place.
Including generous tip we spent $60 pp. No booze. Worth every nickel.
Very highly recommended. I’m for sure going back when in neighborhood again.

“Poor service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Had dinner here last Saturday evening. We ate outside with a nice view of the ocean AND all the idiots walking by in their beach attire. We should have eaten inside (our choice). Parking is $7 plus tip, if you get validated.

Menu has nce selection, although prices are as you would expect at a Ritz Carlton Hotel. Martini's were $16.50 each and diet coke was $5.

Anyway, the appetizer of calamari was excellent. Fried nicely, large amount, enough for 2-3 people. The wait staff took our order right away, although we waited quite a while for drinks.

Same dinner, wait staff was quick to take order....but a long wait for meal and the scallops were undercooked. The restaurant was not crowded, so that wasn't the problem.

Overall, not the quality I expected for this restaurant. I have had better meals here previously.
