We have visited Owners Angela and Tony 5 or 6 times over the past years, staying for a month at a time ,excellent accomodation located conveniently near shopping and wonderfull beach just right for a couple of young older retired folk on a budget with family.

We wanted to stay for 2 weeks between the beach and the intracoastal on the strip between Bonnet House and Beach Place. We knew from previous experience that we could walk easily from this location to The Galleria and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park; and in the opposite direction to the Olympic Pool at the International Swimming Hall of Fame. If we didn't want to use the car to get to Las Olas we could use the bus or the water taxi.

We didn't want ,and didn't expect to get at the price we were prepared to pay, a Ritz Carlton or a Hilton. We wanted a place which was well maintained and clean; had a pool area; car parking; laundry facilities; cooking facilities; separate bedroom and living room; wifi; and was affordable.

I wasn't at all sure that we would be able to meet our criteria at this location but thanks to Trip Advisor we found the Summerland Suites and more than did so. The bonus was friendly and efficient owners who were on site each day all day and willing to give advice when asked; and the fact that we had access to 4 pool areas in total as the Summerland is part of a complex which includes the Birch Patio and the Napoli Belmar.

We have booked to stay here again in October/November and also next Easter.

The rooms were basic, but very clean, with lots of cupboard space. We had daily room service which was unexpected (would have cleaned up if I knew they were coming) The kitchen was very well equipped. The room was quite dark and the air conditioning uits were placed literally next to the bed by our head, and they were extremely noisy, but too hot to switch them off.

The owner was very nice and helpful. Outdoor barbecues and 3 pools for use, but they were exceptionally small, we did however have them to ourselves mostly.

Not really within walking distance to supermarkets or a great selection of eating places, and we were placed at the rear of the property, and the outlook was quite dismal. Close to beach though which was beautiful, but we did not explore much further.

Don't feel the need to return, but the price was very good

It is important that rooms are clean and well maintained. This place was exceptionally clean and did NOT have the usual musty smells common to even the best Florida hotels. I based my decision on previous reviews in tripadvisor, but was nervous about the price ($85 day). If you want all the amenities of the Ritz, this is not for you. However, advantages include a very attentive owner manager (Angela), a short walk to the beach, easy parking, and quiet, comfortable surroundings, this is a great choice. Be sure to call the hotel directly for the best rates. They also have a free wifi (I am using it now to write this review), kitchen and refrigerator, and generous space. The floors are tile and mopped daily. The grout in the bathroom was pristine. The location is off the highway and there is no traffic noise. Thank you tripadvisor for helping me with this choice.
