My white socks did not get dirty.

Incredible, but true--I have the white socks to prove it. Preferring not to walk around in a hotel room in my bare feet, I always keep my socks on. The next day, they were totally clean. I was impressed. The place looked so, so clean, but the white socks were almost too good to believe.

The hotel was truly lovely. We arrived exhausted from a day of connecting flights to a warm and friendly welcome. We took their recommendation and walked to a local restaurant and then enjoyed a stroll along the waterfront. The private pool was nice and quiet and shielded all around--giving it a peaceful, secluded feel.

Aside from being super clean, the room was nicely furnished. The decor felt more like home than the cookie-cutter decor we find in hotel chains. Our room included a kitchen (stocked with dinner and cookware--making it a great choice for a week long visit), living room, bedroom and bath. Cable television, a microwave and other amenities were included. Plenty of room if you'll be staying longer than our single night trip.

For overnight stay before embarking on a cruise, there is no need to rent a car. Plenty of restaurants in short walking distance, plus the beach just a block away. It was a quick taxi ride to the dock. For a weeklong stay, you may want to rent a car, but it's not necessary---there is plenty to do close at hand or with a short taxi ride.

Super welcoming, super clean, and just delightful.

We were very, very pleased.

We would recommend this hotel to our family and friends and can't wait to go back.

P.S. We found this hotel using TripAdvisor--trusting the reviews of fellow travelers. It worked!

  • Liked — Everything--but mostly impressed at how clean it was.
  • Disliked — Can't think of anything that disappointed us, except that we didn't stay longer.

My husband and I traveled to Ft. Lauderdale for a long weekend and decided to stay at Cocobelle Resort based on its stellar TA reviews. First of all, while cute and clean, calling this hotel a “resort” is a bit of a stretch. It’s more like a recently renovated, tidy beach motel. You can tell that the owners take pride in their business, but it still leaves something to be desired. Dorothee tried to be accommodating when I voiced concern over the quality and comfort of the bed in our room. Apparently the mattresses are new, but very thin. We actually considered checking out; it was that bad. The décor is typical beach pastels, palm trees and white wicker. We were offered beach towels and chairs at no charge which was nice. The location is okay…a little far to lug stuff to the beach. We opted to pay $7 for parking in a lot down the street that was much closer to the beach, restaurants and shops. Overall, our stay turned out okay, but we’ll definitely try some place else the next time we’re in Ft. Lauderdale.

  • Liked — free pool chairs, towels; friendly staff
  • Disliked — the uncomfortable beds

After reading many horrible reviews about the beach hotels in Fort Lauderdale, I was thrilled to hear about the Cocobelle Resort. It was the perfect place to stay--clean, well maintained and affordable. The photos of the rooms on the site are quite accurate. Dorothee and Ernst were both welcoming and had lots of useful advice on places to go. Dorothee loves drawing maps! Beach chairs and towels, well supplied kitchen--absolutely no complaints!

I just got back from my stay at the Cocobelle Resort and felt that I needed to write a quick review. My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying there for 4 nights and have to say that it was a great location, friendly and peaceful property as well as an excellent value. Dorothee as everyone has already stated was a wonderful host. I will plan on staying there when I return next year!

The Cocobelle Resort lived up to its reputation and the previous glowing reviews on trip advisor. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner Dorothee, who makes sure all her guests are made to feel ‘at home’. The location of this hotel is just perfect, within minutes to the beach and a great selection of bars and restaurants.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay in Fort Lauderdale that is reasonably priced and offers a high standard of service and cleanliness in the perfect location, then the Cocobelle Resort can't be bettered.
