My wife and I just returned from a 4 week stay. We both had a great time, met some new friends from Windsor & Montreal and we are all planning to meet back there next year. This was our second year at the Napoli Belmar and we are perusing dates to book at least 4 weeks for 2008. This property is in the heart of Ft. Lauderdale, a 2 block walk to the ocean, a 5 minute drive to downtown Los Olas Blvd. and lot's of beautiful walking along the ocean, a 20 minute walk and you are at the corner of A1A & Los Olas. If you wish to be closer to the ocean, you can rent a studio room at the Atlantic Hotel just down the street for $400 a night!! This is a well run property, been in the same family for many many years, not a new property but clean and friendly, clean swimming pools and BBQ's in the back if you wish to grill your own. If something is wrong speak to Angela or Tony and they will always do their best to please you. Need help for recommended places to dine out, check with Angela, she has GREAT taste and will guide you there. This place reminds me of a very famous slogan, "When you're here, you're family". Thanks for a great vacation, we are sorry to be home.

If you are traveling with very young children, stay away from this old motel. The staff is very nice and friendly but the rooms are extremely old and unkept. I was literally afraid of going to bed on the old mattress, let alone making my baby sleep there...

If you only need a place to crash and won't be spending much time in your room, it's ok but otherwise stay away and try to find a good rate on a hotel.

Had I known what to expect, I never would have stayed there. From the moment I arrived, I wanted to run away. It completely ruined my vacation in Florida.

However, the beach is close by (5 minute walk) and the owners and the maid are very nice.

I was just expecting something else.

My review of this motel is very late but I decided to write one anyway as I can't believe all the 5* ratings it got! It's very hard to believe that guests wrote those reviews. The staff and owners are indeed very nice, helpful and try to make you feel welcome. However, when we got there my first instinct was to turn around and run!!! It is very run down and not very clean at all. The mattresses are stained, old and unconfortable. We were also under the impression that we were staying at the Napoli Belmar side, (which looks a little nicer) but ended up on the other side called Birch patio. They didn't bother to tell us this upon booking. We had requested a crib for our baby but there was no way I would end up making a baby slep in that old unsafe thing. We then asked for a cot bed and I ended up sleeping with the baby on the double bed and my husband on the cot. Very unconfortable for 2 weeks. There were always big gross bugs in the room and on the resort in general. The pool area was ok. The beach is not steps away, it is a few blocks away but close enough. The maid was very nice and helpful. The walls are paper thin so if you have rowdy neighbours good luck! The only comments I agree with are that the owners are friendly and it is a family atmosphere but you only see that on the Napoli Belmar side.

We really appreciated our stay at the Napoli Belmar, the service recieved, the warm italian american reception and hospitality, the management goes out of it's way to keep clients happy,,, the champagne and pannetone (tylical italian cake) on new years eve, among the owners and other families saying at the hotel. kind of makes you feel ,,,you are among family,,,,, when away from home. Very safe and well located very close to the ever changing beachfront, lot's of improvments on the beachfront (very nice), lot's to do closeby,,,,. not our first visit and not our last, Enjoy your stay at the hotel, as we and two other families on vacation at the same time did also....
