“little hidden gem near the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

Found this little gem of an older motel thanks to Tripadvisor. Glad I did. Got the room last minute by calling the motel directly. Even better rate than I found on the internet. Virginia, the owner, was very warm and welcoming. You can tell she really cares about her little oasis near the beach. Lovely two storied multi-building motel just two blocks from the beach. Very tidy both inside and out. For such a small place there was more than one pool and bbq grills. My husband and I had to check in very late (after 10:00) and the office was closed. Virginia left a note taped to the inside of the office door indicating our room number and the night security guard was kind enough to show us which room was ours. She left our room door open and a key on the vanity for us and we would settle up in the morning. That was most appreciated. The room itself was small but big enough for the two of us. A double bed, small closet, vanity and night table. There was also a small kitchen table with two chairs. There was also a small kitchenette area with a refridgerator, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker and even a small two burner electric hob in case you wanted to cook. Pots and pans and serving ware also and of course a small kitchen sink area. Just enough space for a small meal if desired. I stuck to coffee and toast. The bathroom was cozy too, small vanity sink, toilette and full tub. The water pressure was incredible in the shower. It was surprising but appreciated. The unit itself was well maintained, not perfectly clean but decent. The grout could have used some bleach but then again I am a super clean person so I notice these things. The tile floor was clean enough to be walked on barefoot and that means a lot to me. Only complaint was the front window blinds did not offer complete privacy. A nice pair of shears for added privacy would have been nice. After all, our bed was two steps away from the window. And the A/C is a wall unit, thus a bit on the noisy side but it cooled the room so we were happy with that. The motel itself was about two blocks away from the gorgeous beach and all the tourist activity that comes with it. I brought my bike and within minutes was riding along the bike lanes with the other tourists and locals alike. Like all the activity in the area with lots of choices in dining and people watching. I would definately return and if I do, I'm hoping to stay again at Napoli Belmar.

Room Tip: Bottom floor was quiet. Only complaint is that the blinds in the only window are not the most priva...

I'm actually still here! Won't check out until tomorrow, but this has definitely been an enjoyable birthday trip for me. When I arrived to my room, it was nice and clean (it must have recently been cleaned because it smelled of bleach) and pleasantly cool. I immediately changed clothes and walked the couple of blocks to the beach. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Fort Lauderdale. I may rent a car next time so that I may do a little more exploring, but there is public transit so it's not like you're stranded. The room is nice, the bed is a little creaky, but I don't care because after a full day of activities, I fell right to sleep anyway! There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room, as well as a sink, toaster, and coffee maker. Also, under the sink there's a plug-in range so that you can cook as well as plates, glasses, and silverware.

We booked this hotel based on reviews from Trip Advisor.
This is not a 5-star resort with all of the bells and whistles. However, it was everything we needed and more. Clean and neat. Freshly painted. (our room was) Saw the pool man cleaning the pool each morning.
Kitchenette included a stove and microwave. It is an older property, but its just so quaint, nice, and affordable.

The owner and operator of the hotel was so very nice. She helped us out on where to eat... what to do.... She said the hotel had been family owned for about 35 years, and it showed. It was clear that she loved it, and loved the area.
We felt safe and almost at home here. It is within walking distance to the beach. It is on the "Sunrise Boulevard" end of the strip... not the Las Olas end. However, if you are a walker, you can easily stroll down to that area of the beach in no time.
There was a grill area between the two buildings, with picnic tables set up . Small pool with chairs.
We will stay there again in a heartbeat!

The owner of the hotel was very helpful and welcoming; we were able to ask her anything about the area, things to do, restaurants etc. and she was able to answer. Cleaning service daily was nice and very friendly/helpful too. Great location! Perfect for people looking for a comfortable, safe place on a budget.

Room Tip: We had room 123, one-bedroom suite; great spot but you could hear the neighbours a bit through the w...

This little gem is tucked in about 2 blocks away from the Fort Lauderdale beach. This place may seem a little dated but it is clean and the staff were great! Our only negatives were that you can hear your neighbors and they need some better curtains. We will definitely stay here again.
