“Could not have beeen much better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

We visited thie hotel in March 2013 together with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. We chose it because of recommendations from friends who had been there before. We were very satisfied with the place, and Angela was an outstanding example for friendliness and hospitality, top score!
We enjoyed the stay very much. Angela can not be blamed for very low temperature and for my 6 days fever....

We went down in February (2 adults, 2 children), and it was just right for our needs. My kids loved the pools, and we loved that we could just walk to the beach spur-of-the-moment, and not have to pack up the car for the day. Angela and her husband are so hospitable, they are truly genuine in wanting their guests to have the best possible stay. FYI, we are a family of Italian-Americans from Boston. So for our children, this was also like a little slice of living in a village in Italy--seeing your neighbors each day, kids from the hotel spontaneously playing together (unplanned play dates--what a concept!), playing bocce under the tutelage of the old-timers who know their stuff, and big family dinners outside by the barbeques. These are not the kinds of experiences you'll have at a standard hotel chain.

Room Tip: First floor rooms might be a bit noisy if there are kids in the room upstairs. Families tend to be p...

My wife and I on the spur of the moment decided to get out of snowy Maine for a few days. We saw the Napoli Belmar and booked the last available room. We booked on Sunday for a Tuesday arrival. The Napoli Belmar is at the far end of Fort Lauderdale beach away from the major high rise hotels. We think it is the best part of the beach, quieter and not as crowded. Belmar is a short two blocks from the ocean in an area of small low rise apartments. A lot of interesting Art Deco buildings on North Birch and the surrounding neighborhood. It was like "old" Ft Lauderdale, before the high rises, etc. The Belmar is a nice, quaint older, well kept motel, with three pools and and relaxing atmosphere. There were French-Canadians and Italian-Canadians staying there. There were vacationing families with young children, people lounging around the courtyard, and it was a very pleasant atmosphere. Again, we booked the last room, and it was a bit smaller than we are used to, but it went with the age and style of an older facility. To be clear: older isn't necessarily bad. The staff and management couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I would recommend the Napoli Belmar to senior travelers, families and solo travelers. Restaurants are nearby and the price was more than reasonable for FT Lauderdale at this time of year. In the past, we have stayed at the more well known chain hotels, Bahia Mar, Pier 66, etc. At this stage of the game, for us, the Belmar was perfect. I'll be back when we decide for another quick getaway to the sun. The next time I'll be sure to book an efficiency, which looked perfect for couples wanting to spread out a bit more.

1. very clean and well maintained.
2. lovely pool, barbeques and laundry facilities
3. forgot my travel pillow there the first night. They hung onto it for 2 weeks and gave it to me after our cruise. wow...wasnt expecting that.
4. Staff are lovely. The owner kept our suitcases for us in the office unti lour room was ready.
5 close to beach.
6. both my husband and I had viral asthma when we arrived and we asked that they clean just using hot water, no chemicals as the fumes would exacerbate our wheezy coughs...no problem.

Stayed for the first time here due to reviews on Trip advisor. Our room was fine but the kitcken was a little small for 4 people. Place was clean and well kept. Angela was very helpful. The location was great, just a few minutes from the beach and although there were a lot of buildings that were closed and seemingly abandoned it felt like a very safe area.

Room Tip: Room 110 has a very small kitchen

My family and I rented two apartments at the Belmar. It is a little slice of paradise. It was very relaxing with beautiful, clean pools available. The rooms are very clean and maintained. We rented a 1 and 2 room apt. The price is very fair. The owners and staff are outstanding. The location is excellent. You can see the ocean from the complex. It takes only a few minutes to get there. We loved our room location. It was in front of the larger heated pool. We could not have been happier. We used the cook out facility and had a picnic on the pool patio. The hotel is close to other restaurants and shops. We would walk there also.
