This is the first time I've written about a hotel ... but my experience at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort (Hilton) was excellent.
The hotel is fantastic and our room was very, very nice. We opted for a 2 queen bed "studio" with partial ocean view. It was $179/night prepaid. The room was quiet with a great ocean view (not as good as having a suite's view) but actually more than I expected. I didn't notice anything cheap or cheesy in the room for this price range.
The beach is across the street and there's no over-the-street bridge or walkway so you must take care when crossing the sometimes busy boulevard ... it's not like a major throughway.
The beach is literally across the street and still convenient ... just exit the lobby and walk across the street and you're there. The lifeguard station is just in front of the hotel.
The pool area is very family friendly with a nice, large pool with two hot tubs running at very warm and very hot temperatures. The pool felt heated as well which was nice.
Services were offered with smiles. Our 3 yr old son was offered treats and candy by staff and other goodies. They were very attentive to us every time we left and returned.
It is a bummer that parking is not available and cars must be valet parked. That adds $29/night to your bill if you have a car. Also internet is not included and that's $12.95 a night more as well.
