Most reviews tell all you need to know about this hotel. Location is great, check-in goes smoothly, bell service is professional and overall the staff is top notch.
Remember this is a beach resort in Fort Lauderdale. That means the hotel/resort will ALWAYS be crowded, whether it is conventions or just your everyday traveler. Be prepared to wait for your room if you find the hotel crowded. If you are checking in on Fri., Sat., or Sun. you will likely have to wait for your room if you attempt to check-in prior to 2pm.
The beach is fantastic!! Right across the street. Take a towel from the pool or get one from the beach concierge. At low tide you can walk for nearly 100 yards into the ocean and it will never get above your waist. The water is crystal clear and on a normal day the waves won't knock you over. Young kids will love it!!
The breakfast is pricey but worth it. If you are a Gold/Platinum Hilton Honors member you get vouchers for a continental breakfast. Spend an extra $4 for either a hot buffett or a cold buffett.
If you plan to use the kitchen amenities, stop at a grocery on your way to the hotel and pick up plastic utensils, bowls and cups. Or just ask the frontdesk for everything you need at check-in. This hotel is also an ownership property. That is, the units are sold to single owners in addition to being booked as hotel rooms. The reason the kitchens are there in the first place is for families that purchase the units and stay for weeks at a time.
Book a stay --- you won't be disappointed. Just remember ... it's not the Four Seasons or the Ritz. But it is a very well run Hilton property.
