This hotel is beautiful and has the service to match. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the rooms are well appointed. We stayed in a king suite that included a full kitchen, a Jenn Air refrigerator that I want at home, HUGE marble bath with a double sink and plenty of counterspace and storage, a rainfall showerhead that offered a deluge of water, comfy bed and linens, and spacious living room; two flat panel TVs and an oceanview balcony that unfortunately also overlooked a construction site next door, but it wasn't too bad; and a nicely outfitted fitness center. The 6th floor pool deck overlooking the ocean was great. And good food at the Ilios (though kind of pricey, aren't all hotel restaurants?) I wish they offered free internet access ($12.95/day), but that is truly the only thing to be found wanting. I highly recommend this friendly, gorgeous hotel.

Nice room. Refrigerator was really dirty. Someone elses leftovers were inside. Relatively new property so they seem disorganized. Good locatoin.

We spent one night at the "beach resort" in May 2008. The hotel is actually across a small four lane road from the beach.

Our room was clean and nice - and jammed with stuff: stove, fridge, coffee maker, closet with washer/dryer and pots/pans and so on. The room was a luxury 250 sf family beach home. Our small balcony overlooked the ocean and we enjoyed the views. The balcony also overlooked the numerous construction sites on the beachfront. It was dusty as there are major high rise construction projects on the left and right of this hotel. In 2010, the immediate area should be quite nice.

I really liked the staff! The concierge was sensational with practical advice. He recommended several restaurants outside the hotel and he was "spot on". The front staff was helpful. Great folks up and down the line.

My only complaint was that the main restaurant was not open yet (under construction). The small coffee shop by the pool was not inviting and expensive.

If you want a small family beach place, this is it.

The location could not have been better. Ocean view and within walking distance to the oceanfront shopping and dining area without being so close that the all-night music could be heard. The staff was very friendly and seemed interested in making sure everything was good with your stay. We had an oceanfront king room, which could very well have been called a condo, and the view from the balcony was amazing. The only thing that keeps this hotel from getting a 5-circle Excellent rating, for me, is that they have absolutely no self-parking. If you have a car, you are forced to use the overpriced valet parking (or park on the street at a meter with a 2-hour limit, so who wants to spend all night waking up every 2 hours to feed the meter).

Having just returned from the FLL Hilton Beach Resort I feel I must comment on the terrific stay we had.We attended a wedding being held at the hotel and shortly before the ceremony was to begin by the pool the weather became extremely windy and threatening so everything had to be set up in one of the ballrooms. The staff really hustled, made everything look effortless and beautiful and then converted the room for the reception and actually set up the cocktail reception in the hall outside the ballroom. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. All of the staff was kind, courteous and very willing to resolve any dilemma that arose.
This hotel is a very boutique-like property and perhaps could use a few more services...while attending the cocktail reception in the hall I noticed a shop at the end of that hall and went to take a peek...a very basic gift-souvenir type shop but still offered snacks and magazines etc. I commented to the manager of the shop that I was surprised to find the shop and HE was just as surprised the hotel hadn't mentioned the facility...not that I asked and shouldn't have assumed it would be there.I had read other reviews prior to our trip and don't remember it being mentioned so I guess I should've explored more on my own.
My husband and I rented one of the studio condos within the hotel which was great..deeded parking...pullman kitchen...balcony with partial oceanview..great spa bath with terrific walk-in shower.I agree with some other comments, however, that a few more kitchen utensil necessities would have been an asset. We didn't "cook" but did take the trolley on Friday afternoon from Beach Place Shops to the Publix on I believe 17th and Cordova to pick up some perishables for the frig.FYI check with the bellmen as I think the Las Olas Trolley stops at the hotel on some other days and will also go to fun restaurants and Publix.
We actually spent most our time at the hotel...friends living in FLL area came by to spend the day at the pool..not sure of other days but on Sat and Sun the hotel has a grill operation at the pool for a delicious burger, hotdog, ribs, chicken sandwich, seasoned fries and all condiments and very reasonable...wonderful cocktails too!!
We had absolutely no language problems with any of the Spanish staff...just superb in every way..HOWEVER...the Oriental front desk staff is another story...don't get me wrong...very kind but smiling and shaking heads does not get your question answered and I left frustrated on several occasions and had to seek out other staff to help....that said I would highly recommend this hotel...would like some kind of coffee shop-light fare type eatery on sight...would definitely book it again and kudos to all the fine hardworking staff we did encounter...I could name names but would feel horrible if I left anyone out!!!!

  • Liked — overall wonderful service and great room
  • Disliked — no light fare reasonable coffee shop type restaurant
