I spent 3 nights in this hotel in a week....a sunday and monday night stay and a thursday night stay. the facility is exceptionally beautiful and obviously new. My first stay, my reservation was upgraded to a 2 room suite with a SE view of the ocean, 12th floor...full kitchen, small sitting area, adequate sized bedroom with an over abundant bath area and large walkin closet. The bath was very well appointed with marble finishes, 2 sink vanity, glass enclosed shower, whirlpool tub, all the extras - hairdryer, lighted mirror, accessory bridge. A plasma TV in each space, BR and LR, but I didn't watch TV.. I sat on the decent sized balcony and looked at the water! The sunrise both days was tremendous, well worth waiting for. My 2nd stay I was provided a 2 room mini suite, with a mini kitchen - small fridge, 2 burner range, microwave and sink. Again the bath was oversized, the sleeping room was a little tight....the balconies were great, as was the view to the NE, of the beach of course... There is a restaurant on the 6th floor, as well as a fully equipped exercise room and a beautiful pool/patio area with mulitiple hot tubs and lots of pool furniture. The restaurant was overpriced but really inviting, with a view of the pool.....a large circular bar is in the middle of the serving area, so I thought their primary goal was to sell alcohol rather than food. I used a coupon provided me by the hotel for a continental breakfast one morning.....the value of the offerings covered by the coupon was listed in the menu as $16 - juice, coffee and 2 pastries. The attendant was very well trained, cordial and encouraged me to upgrade to a full breakfast....many options were provided. The evening menu looked appealing, but I had a budget to respect. All the downsides are minimal - valet only parking, one vending machine for the entire bldg on the 2nd floor tucked away in the business center, only 2 of the 4 elevators seemed to be functioning properly - maybe they had designated them for room service and housekeeping exclusively...nevertheless sometimes the wait to go up was a tad bit long....the consistent issue I found to be most frustrating was the overwhelming use of immigrants whose english was great considering their personal situations, but it was a challenge for me to communicate clearly with them. They were all good looking, well dressed, cordial, kind, patient and persistent in executing their duties....e.g. when I first arrived it was late in the evening, about 10 pm and I needed to find a meal before I retired. I asked about a restaurant, but the desk clerk could not communicate enough with me for me to understand that the in house restaurant was available till 11 for a sit down meal. I went out to the strip and found very few choices for a common meal - lots of entertainment though. A similar issue was experienced at the time of the 2nd check in ... the language barrier proved to be a burden for the couple ahead of me attempting an efficent check in, thus my check in was a bit lengthy. The price of this hotel is at the very top end of my available budget. Now that I have explored the Ft. Lauderdale area and have found less expensive and acceptable, quality facilities - non of which are on the beach, but some are close! - I will have to choose one of them to meet my company's lodging policies. All in all, it was a great experience. Additionally, I met some of the upper management of the hotel staff - it is part of my job to call on hotels and set up arrangements for corporate visitors - they were all very sharp, very cordial, receiving me without notice and accomodating my inquiries.....a tight ship! I wish them every success and recommend the facility to any visitor who can afford it!
