We've stayed at Angela's Resort for 3 nights around Thanksgiving (yes, I've been waiting too long to write this!) Angela is a very nice and outgoing lady from Jamaica, if I remember correctly. The hotel was fairly empty this time of year. We had a 1 bedroom suite on the first floor and I was pleasantly surprised at how big it was and nicely furnished. Didn't feel institutional at all, and there was plenty of room for our son to build castles out of sofa pillows. We paid similar price in St.Petersburg for a suite of probably half the size.
Kitchen was big too, and had all the utensils I could think of. Everything was very clean. Our son loved the pool. Half a block to the beach, but it was too cold in November to be on the beach. I've actually appreciated the fact that the hotel was set back from the beach and the busy street that goes along it, so it was quiet enough. All in all, if I ever return to Ft. Lauderdale I won't look for any other place to stay.
