This hotel is a Botique style hotel. I booked through expedia and when I arrived they upgraded my room to a suite which was nice. The staff did let me know about the area, gave me maps and let me in on what was fun to do around.

The breakfast they had was a normal contl B-fast. There courtyard was nice, I met a few nice people sitting in the court yard.

The room was clean, it was a theme of Hong Kong which was pretty cool. The decor was nice and the sheets, bathroom and floor were all clean. They had free wireless which was a plus since I had to work.

There was a guy who worked there during the days who was very helpful. There office is not staffed all day long but they let me know that when I checked in. I did call them once and they arrived 5 mins later, which I think was fine considering in the hilton I had to wait once 45mins to get towels.. but that's another story.

Overall I would stay here again. The location was amazing and the hotel was a nice Botique place.

Gigi’s Resort in Ft. Lauderdale Beach, FL was my worst hotel experience ever. I am accustomed to South Florida’s older hotels and resorts and choose to stay in hotels and resorts with this charm. Gigi’s resort could have had the charm if you could over look the dirty floor, broken shower, clogged kitchen sink and the yellow sheets. Not to mention the rude service or should I say lack of, the unsafe locks on the doors and there was not an emergency exit plan in the room in case of fire; the windows would not even open.

The worst part of the stay at the resort was the parking situation. We arrived with two cars and were instructed to park one car in the lot across the street. We parked one car in the lot overnight, got up the next morning went to brunch, came back and the car had been towed. As we were standing in the lot calling the towing company a man who was checking for permits came up and stated the hotel had no right to tell us we could park there as the lot is owned by the apartments next door.

We went to the hotel office to speak to a attendant only to find once again they were not there and that we should call. We called and the person who told us to park there stated “ I told you to park there over night, not all day.” After spending hours dealing with getting to the car, we arrived at the towing company. The man who towed the car stated he picks cars up there hourly and that the owners of the towing company and the hotel are very familiar with each other.

The whole experience of this resort was disgusting from the filth of the room to the lack of service on premise and the way the manager hung up on me and would not give me her name when trying to seek some sort of restitution for the extra $150 I was out of pocket for my car being towed.

Gigi`s promotes itself as a resort. It has no amenities than any other resort has that I have stayed at. It is just a place with a bed and breakfast. The room (Miami) was old and needs a major facelift. The decoration was poor. The walls are in desparate shape for a paint job. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The front door lock would not work properly. I could not even get hot water in the morning for a shower.
Unfortunately the owner / manager who was not on site would not even offer another room in exchange or other options when I talked with him over the phone (and I know the place was not booked out). The website I booked with did not offer any other solutions either.
There are a lot of other hotels and resorts in Ft. Lauderdale which are far nicer and cost the same or less. I recommend that you are not fooled by GiGi`s nice website.

I'm baffled how this rates number 3 in popularity in Ft Laud. Maybe the rooms just vary on a room to room basis. We were in the San Francisco suite and it was borderline shabby. Not dirty, just unkempt, just old and funky without being real charming. We had problems with the plumbing -- bathtub backed up. Called the front desk for help at 9 pm -- they asked me if it could wit till the mornign. it couldn't. We checked out the next day. The place has a very good location but just needs more attention.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Gigi's for a quick weekend away in Ft. Lauderdale. When we arrived at 1pm the door to the office was closed and we had to call a phone number for someone to come check us in. They arrived, did our paperwork and walked us upstairs to our room. He started to open the door and realized that the room was still dirty! Oops! He let us into another room so that we could change our clothes and told us we could come back in an hour and our room would be ready. It was a small inconvenience, but fine. We stayed in the Venice Room. It is exactly as pictured on their website (gigisresort.com). I have posted pictures of the bathroom, which is not shown on their website. The room was clean and comfortable. It was reminiscent of staying in a guest room at someone's home. The hotel was very quiet and we only saw 2 other guests during our stay there. The complimentary breakfast included muffins, nutri grain bars, bagels, english muffins, orange juice and coffee. (Some water would have been nice!) It was nothing elaborate but it certainly served its purpose. The hotel does not have a pool or jacuzzi (the place next door does have a jacuzzi, which only made us want one more) and that's a gripe I have. My only other complaint was that there was never any hotel staff around. The only time we saw an employee was when we checked in... oh, and when we ran into him at dinner that night at Il Mulino. It would have been helpful to have someone around to help us in getting cabs or directing us around the area. There were also not instructions for check-out so we just left our keys sitting on the table outside of the office. The main benefits of this hotel for us were the location to the beach and bars, the price ($150/night for a Friday and Saturday stay), the quiet and cleanliness. All-in-all, it was a good stay and the hotel served it's purpose.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, comfortable, good location, good value.
  • Disliked — Lack of staff availability, no pool/hot tub.
