I stayed here for 6 days and was just wowed by the place which is not something that's easy to do. Service is absolutely top notch. Not just 1 or 2 good employees, it's ingrained here. The devil is in the details and they get all of the details just right.

I booked a basic room at an off season discount rate and when I checked in they upgraded me! Sweet! Room was beautiful, 4 poster bed, beautiful finishes, nice furniture, way beyond the usual gay guesthouse stuff. Also turn down service! (2 small criticisms of the room, really small TV and no microwave even though there was plenty of room for both.)

In the morning they have a beautifully laid out selection of breads, fruits cereals etc. And they keep it out until all the guests had woken up (no matter how late, thanks!) Around noon, this is replaced with Iced tea and cookies. And of course the famous cocktail hour every night. The public space is very well done and is always meticulously cared for. You cannot help but relax here, with the water fountains and the muzak that is set at the right level so it's not blaring at you all day. They supply whatever you want no questions asked.

My biggest tip is that this place is made for couples, very romantic, not so much for singles. I went here on my own and was probably the only solo traveler the whole time. This doesn't bother me, as I was there to relax, but if you are looking for a place to meet others this is probably not the place.

It had been about five years since my partner and I visited the Flamingo. We returned this month and the experience exceeded what we had already fondly remembered.

The perfection of the Flamingo begins the very moment you contact them to reserve a room. Whether by phone or email, there is a warm, friendly feeling from the staff who could not possibly be more accommodating.
The staff was happy to offer us the off-season rate, even though our arrival was a bit before those rates began, and we were also given an amazing upgrade to a one bedroom suite! Sweet! And since we were arriving fairly late in the evening, I had asked if any place would be open to purchase a bottle of wine. Kevin asked what kind of wine we liked and made sure there was a bottle of it waiting in our room.

The one bedroom suite was amazing...a beautiful sitting room, a kitchenette and a long hallway to the bedroom with a fourposter canopy bed and lovely bathroom. I could not possibly begin to tell you how much we loved this suite.

We spent most of our time in the lush courtyard and pool area. Its clothing optional (which makes for a full body tan--no lines!) yet the atmosphere is not cruisy...its simply relaxing. The breakfast is displayed and served in a lovely room with all the items under glass on cakestands...Very Martha Stewart (And so much nicer than the other gay resorts that give you bagels and pastries wrapping in plastic). In the afternoon, cookies and ice tea are offered and at 5:30pm, its cocktail hour! Kevin was happy to bring whatever drinks the guests desired...and they kept coming for a full hour!
Why would anyone want to leave this place??

Oh, and we had amazing massages in the outdoor cabana! Best!

We did venture out to the LOVELY beach one afternoon, and we had some great meals. Some of our favorite places to eat while in the area are Chima, Sozo Sushi and our 'don't miss this' recommendation is Canyon.
We also had an amazing dinner experience at Seasons 52.

Instead of stopping in at the various clubs, we brought some wine down by the pool each night, and enjoyed it between some naked moonlite swims.

The Flamingo is the kind of place you won't want to leave. The staff attends to every detail to make your stay memorable. The other guest during our five night stay were a broad all-ages mix...some younger, some older--everyone polite and friendly.

In the years between our visits to the Flamingo, we had visited a few other gay resorts in the area. Nothing (even the VERY VERY expensive ones) comes close to giving what the Flamingo offers. And while the Flamingo may be the only resort not to offer a 10-man hot tub---it offers more than that...it offers perfection!

This is the second time in the past month my partner and I stayed at the Flamingo. We brought two of our best friends and had an absolute fabulous time! Chip and Ray are the very best hosts and make you feel so comfortable...wait until cocktail time...Chip is so much fun! And wait until you meet Kevin. He is the Webster Dictionary definition of "customer service". This is our resort every time we travel to Ft. Lauderdale. Joe & Rob from Chicago.

My expectations were high based on the reviews here and on a recommendation of a friend who had just returned. I was not disappointed. I can't add much to what has been previously written, so I'll just point out some of my favorite things.

Overall, I enjoyed the attention to detail that I found throughout the stay. The landscaping is beautiful. The breakfast was well-presented and included cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bagels, and raisin toast. Happy Hour was a great time to get to know other guests. Our room was spacious, quiet, and cool---a welcome retreat on a hot day. Plenty of closet and drawer space, a good size refrigerator, and a large bathroom. We were in a deluxe room.

During our stay all guests, including ourselves, were couples. Several countries were represented and the age range during our stay was mid-20's to mid-50's. Everyone seemed very laid-back and most people spent their days reading or sunning by the pool. Some people swam nude, others didn't, but nobody seemed to care either way. It was not a cruisy atmosphere.

It's an easy walk to the gay beach. Unlike many beaches, there is a total absence of food or beverage vendors, so pack your own or head to the CVS across the street from the beach.

As for eating out, we enjoyed Coconuts with its tables on the intercoastal waterway. The food was great and the already reasonably priced bottles of wine are half-off on Monday nights. We also liked Rosie's for lunch. We were disappointed by the food at Galanga, but agree the waiters are cute. We didn't make it out to any bars or clubs, preferring instead to drink by the pool in the evening, so I can't review those.

All staff and owners were extremely nice and helpful. Really, customer service was top notch. My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Flamingo. The owners and entire staff are outstanding. When we arrived we were told that our room had been upgraded. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the pool/courtyard area. The suite itself was bright, spacious and spotless. The pool and grounds were very well-kept. Tony arranged for roses to be delivered for my partner's birthday and even printed out our return flight boarding passes for us.

The other guests were friendly and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at the Flamingo again.
