To say that the guys make you feel welcome at the time you arrive, is an understatement. It was my partners and my anniversary. Before we left for Fort Lauderdale, I had asked if it was possible to have some champagne, a box of chocolate and some flowers in the room as a surprise for my partner.
Here is what happened: Not only did Ray arrange for the most beautiful bouquet of roses that you can imagine, had the a champagne chilled and arranged on a tray with flowers, they also upgraded our room.
Once we arrived everybody on staff (Chip and Ray the owners included) pampered everybody. You have a question about a good restaurant, they will recommend great spots, call ahead to make sure the restaurant is open and get you directions to get there. You have any question at all, it will be answered with a smile.
The rooms are impecable. The pool area is wonderful and a great place to relax.
During happy hour (about 5:30pm) Chip has always made it a point to talk to all the guests and volunteered information as to what was going on in town that night.
Tony and Kevin where always helpful. In short I have never been in a hotel where the staff was so cheerful, polite, and respectful. I had a great time and would have loved to stay longer!!

On most trips whether they be business or pleasure I want to return home within just a few days. However, we felt so much at home at the Flamingo Inn that I wanted to stay longer. And I would have done if work was not calling!!! We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. In spite of coming in early, at 9:30am, our room was ready and we were able to help ourselves to breakfast. The breakfast had plenty to choose from and was more than sufficient for me. During the day iced tea and cookies were also available. In the evening the owners hosted a "happy hour" which was always enjoyable. Our room was very comfortable. We could have upgraded to a more spacious room. Our friends had one of the suites and it was incredible. We may well do this the next time.

The Flamingo Inn Amongst The Flowers Resort in Fort Lauderdale richly deserves its five stars. My partner and I have just returned home from a delightful stay there. We travel a lot, we’re choosy and one of us has experience in luxury hotel management in London, so we know something of the hospitality industry.

The Flamingo’s proprietors, Chip and Ray as well as their entire team, are the perfect hosts. They are charming, helpful and friendly and create a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

The grounds are restful and immaculate; the bedrooms and public rooms beautifully furnished, with the feel of a fine Caribbean home. Breakfasts are excellent and wine and cocktails served on silver each afternoon exemplify the many touches that set this resort apart.

The Flamingo Inn Amongst the Flowers is now our ‘home away from home’ in Fort Lauderdale - we’ve booked again - and it’s the finest gay resort we have stayed in. The gay travel community has awarded the resort its ‘Five Palms Award’ for excellence. We say that if ever there is a sixth palm to be awarded, The Flamingo Inn Amongst the Flowers would be the worthy recipient.

This was my second visit to The Flamingo, and I would go again and again! I had a guest with me for part of my stay, and he was equally enthralled with the property and service. Chip and Ray ( and of course, Hercules ) are wonderful hosts, and Tony and his wonderful personality adds so much to the resort. David does a wonderful accupuncture treatment that is far beyond the best massage i have ever had! We had perfect weather, and there was a wonderful group of guests when we were there, which added to the enjoyment.
In South Florida, I would not stay anywhere but The Flamingo.
