We stayed here for 1 night before our cruise. The hotel room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There's a few restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Not too much to do within walking distance, but great hotel for 1 night.

As previous reviewers note, this is a great hotel to stay at before or after a cruise. It is not, as another reviewer noted however, a great place to stay if you want to easily see Fort Lauderdale. Stay somewhere else for that.

We drove from DC to Florida and arrived Saturday mid-afternoon. Our room -- a double queen suite with pullout couch -- was ready as planned. It could easily sleep six as the website suggests.

The room was very clean and spacious with granite countertop on the bathroom sink, big color tv and dvd player. The room also had an easy chair and table with chairs. The outdoor pool was clean with many chaise lounges. The hotel also had a mini-7/11 in the lobby to buy things and a Winn Dixie was across the street.

The hotel gave us a coupon book at check -in which we used that night at dinner at the nearby Old Heidelberg down the street. This restaurant is a great place to go if you like German food and music. It is within waking distance about a block down from the hotel. The food and drink is great and it had live German music that Saturday night.

Sunday we got up and had the complimentary continental breakfast (which was fine) and headed for the cruise port about 11am. Since we drove our own vehicle, we drove down to the port which is about three blocks down the street from the hotel.

As the hotel clerk told me, make a right out of the lot and keep going straight until you literally run into the port. There was quite a crowd standing out at the front door waiting for cruise shuttles, att the time we left so it did not seem to well organized.

I was glad we had our own vehicle. You can park at the hotel while on cruise for $10 a day - about what they charge at the port. Entry to the port was easy and parking was right across from the pier from where the ship left. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Thanks again to Trip Advisor for a great find!

  • Liked — Easy access to port and close proximity to airport.
  • Disliked — Great hotel but not centrally located. If you want to see Fort Lauderdale, stay somewhere else.

We chose this hotel for an overnight stay before a cruise mainly because they offered shuttle service from the airport and to the cruiseport. Some of the reviews and comments I had read prior to booking led me to believe that this hotel was in a less than desirable location. I did not find that to be the case. I was pleased to find a Winn Dixie across the street where we were able to purchase soft drinks, wine, and snacks to take onboard with us.

Our room was very clean and comfortable and the staff most pleasant. In the evening we were told there would be complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, and snacks out by the pool. To our surprise we found a hotel employee cooking hot dogs and hamburgers (too bad we had already eaten.) A nice way to wind down and prepare for the cruise.

The shuttle service to the cruiseport was well organized and efficient, but there weren't too many cruisers there to put it to the test.

All in all, I was pleased with the accommodations.....if not the price.....and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

  • Liked — Free shuttle service from airport/to cruiseport
  • Disliked — Price was high

Stayed here one night in advance of a cruise. Can't beat the location in terms of proximity to the airport and cruise port.(about five minutes from each). Nicer, newer hotel than others I have stayed at in FLL. Nice large diing area for the continental breakfast, but there's a McDonald's across the road as well.

We had four people staying in a two-queen sized bed room. I'd call the room "medium-sized." It was a little tight, with all of our cruise luggage, but clean and quiet. Bathroom was nicely appointed (granite countertops, nice fixtures) and amenities were nice. There was a mini-fridge in the room.

Shuttle service was pretty good... had to wait a bit at the airport to be picked up, and waited quite a while when departing for the cruise port (and looped through the airport on the way there), but it wasn't too terrible. I'd recommend allowing some extra time if you are planning to use the shuttle.

If you aren't necessarily trying to experience Ft. Lauderdale, and are just interested in a practical, clean, good value place to stay near to the airport or the cruise port, I really can't think of how it could be better.

  • Liked — Proximity to airport and cruise port, quality and cleanliness of room for price
  • Disliked — Surrounding area was pretty industrial.

I have used this property twice for my pre and post cruise stays. It is new, beautiful and a gem of a find. The shuttle service from the airport and cruise terminal is free. Upon my return of the Thankgiving cruise all the room were still occupied or not cleaned. I arrived in the late morning way before the typical check-in. My luggage was stored for me and I was able to sit by the pool and enjoy the sun while a room was prepared. The property called me within an hour. Within walking distance is a Winn Dixie market for your pre cruise needs. There is a subway and Dunkin Doughnuts as well. All in all great room, sparkles, comfortable beds. -DW
