My husband and I, spending a pleasant 24 hours on Las Olas for our 23rd Anniversary, walked the boulevard Sunday morning to find a brunch option. Las Olas was as alive on a Sunday morning as it was the Saturday night before and we were pleased to have so many choices. Coming upon the Floridian, we were impressed by the number of people who seemed to be waiting outside. There was a 20 minute wait for an inside table and the line near the door was actually for the sidewalk tables, filled mostly with patrons and their puppies. These were first come first served, so when a couple got up, we snagged the table. The weather was beautiful and people watching was at its best. We were attended to right away by both a busboy and waitress. They cleared the old plates and cleaned off the table. Menus came and before we could decide, coffee was served. Breakfast is served all day, so we dove right in. I chose "The Mess," a combination of sausage, bacon, homefries, cheese and eggs, all cooked together. The meal was extremely flavorful, maybe made so by heavy salt, but it worked. The biscuit served on the side was tender and creamy. My husband's 3 egg omlet with 3 added filling items was pretty much the same as my meal except his homefries were separate from the omlet. Also delecious, although the country ham was a bit chewy in the omlet. The service was on point and the bill was low. It was a great experience.
