We were going on our cruise on Sunday, 09/23, so we were booked for Saturday, 09/22. We drove from New York and actually arrived on Friday, 09/21. I dealt with Steve at the front desk, he was extremely helpful and managed to accomodate our needs, a King bed, non-smoking and first floor. Remember Saturday was totally booked and Friday, when we arrived was nearly booked. During our stay and return Steve was great.

The hotel was clean, well kept and nice looking. Our room was comfortable, clean, and roomy. The shower was strong and hot.

There was a free hot breakfast, the staff was good, place was clean, breakfast was good, hey it was free, it worked. Please be advised that on the day of the cruise the dining room gets very crowded. We ate a liesurly breakfast at 7:30 A.M. then went back to relax in our room till it was time to go to the lobby.

We opted to take the park and ride. For $6 a day (compared to parking at the port for $12 a day), Their shuttle service was quick and reliable.

The downside to the location of this hotel, is if you do not have a car you MUST eat at the hotel. Since we had our car we had no problem with shopping and restaurants.

Ramada Inns are making all their hotels basically the same, so you have consistancy whichever hotel you stay at. Our stay at this hotel was very pleasant and would use again.

I was surprised to read some of the previous reviews, we just spent 3 nights at this Ramada and were extremely pleased and I am very picky. We arrived back from our cruise at Port Everglades at 10AM, I promply called the hotel for the shuttle, little did I know the shuttle was already there, we were at the hotel in less than 30 minutes. Upon arrival, approximately 10:45 or so, the hotel staff advised us the room would be ready shortly even though check-in wasn't until 3. We had an early lunch at the Tiki bar then were assigned our room. We asked for a second floor room overlooking the pool. The room was very clean, I found it bright and cheery. The pool area was also very nice, the kids loved it, the pool was nice and warm and clean. I found the entire courtyard to be nice. The free breakfast was also great, it was hot every morning, and it consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, various bagels and donuts and cold cereal. The staff was also very accomodating. We reserved our seats on the shuttle to the airport our last day and even asked for an additional 90 minutes. Check-out was 11 but since we weren't taking the shuttle until 1, I asked to stay until 12:30. The staff checked and since they weren't full they granted my request. The kids swam all morning. There is even a car rental place on the property. I was a little apprehensive since it wasn't a named place, i.e., Alamo, Hertz, but I went ahead and booked anyway. The also were great, they picked us up at the airport when we first arrived in Ft. Lauderdale then we booked another car for the end of our trip, the girls at the desk were very helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I thought most of the workers at this property were not in the least welcoming. Seems they were under the impression that a smile or a thank you would be too much trouble. We called for the shuttle from the airport and it took an inordinate amount of time for it to show up. We got to the hotel a bit prior to check in time, and our room was ready, so that was a plus. The rooms were fairly clean with the exception of the drinking glasses - they had clearly been only rinsed out and were not at all clean and no lid to the ice bucket. A phone call was made to the front desk and to their credit, a maid came fairly quickly. The free breakfast the next morning was OK, food-wise, but there was a long line for a table (even though there were plenty of empty tables) and they picked up the food and coffee before most people were ready. When I asked for more coffee, the waitress complained that nobody ever tipped them. The free shuttles to the cruiseport were very convenient and fairly well organized. The "bellman/porter" was pleasant. The hotel was close to the airport and cruiseport and would be an OK choice for one night before or after a cruise. We wished we had stayed closer to the beach area, however.

  • Liked — convenience to airport and cruiseport
  • Disliked — Too far from beach area

My girlfriend and I took a wonderful Vacation to Fort Lauderdale in June. We liked just about everything except this hotel. And let me start out by saying we are not super picky, just want a friendly staff, clean room and to feel safe.

We had a late night flight that arrived in Fort Lauderdale around 12:05am. Trying to be thrifty we decided to stay in a discounted hotel before going to our real hotel (BeachPlace Marriot, which was wonderful!!) on the beach since we would be arriving so late. We looked online and found the Ramada that offered a free shuttle, breakfast, and seemed to be clean. Perfect right? Nope!!

Our flight arrived just about on time, but the hotel shuttle stop service at 12:00 so we just missed it. No big deal so we took a Taxi. Make sure you print out mapquest directions to the hotel ahead of time. The taxi driver took us the long way and a $10 taxi ride cost us $25.

When we arrived in the lobby we were greeted by a lady at the front desk who was in a very bad mood and seemed very inconvenienced to be checking us in. People have bad days... not a big deal.

We go to our room which was on the bottom floor. The room had a huge front window looking into the center area facing other rooms and the door didn't seem to close all the way. The room was not very clean and extremely dated. The bed looked gross so we decided just to sleep fully dressed. The walls between rooms are paper thin! The people in the room next to us were yelling at each other up until about 2am and it felt like they were in our room!

In the morning I woke up and went in for the free breakfast. It was free so I have nothing to complain about.

Next it was time to get the heck out of there and move on to better places!

We went to the front lobby to check out. I asked one of the people at the front desk if we could take the shuttle to the cruise boats. He said since we hadn't registered as having a cruise that we couldn't use the free shuttle. I could see this being an issue if there were no empty seats on the shuttle, but they had plenty of room. Especially since we were not able to use the airport shuttle. So instead I asked him to call us a taxi. We waited.... And Waited... and waited. One hour went by. I went back up and asked him if he had called us a taxi and he said yes. So we waited some more... and some more. I started to get angry that we were wasting our vacation sitting in a lobby so I went and asked someone else how long it takes for taxis to get there. She said 5 to 10 minutes. I told her how long we have been waiting and ask her to check on our taxi. She talked to the guy and we waited some more. Another half hour went by and I went up to the counter again and told the guy that I was pissed that we had been waiting three hours for a taxi that he supposedly called. He then got on the phone again and I listened this time to him actually talking to a taxi company. Ten minutes later our taxi was there.

To me this is ridiculous. We were the only two people waiting in the lobby and we were sitting right in front of the counter. If I was in their position and I called a taxi for a customer I would follow up with the taxi customer to make sure it showed up. Letting a customer wait in the lobby for three hours while you [--] on the phone or play on the computer is ridiculous.

Things to take from this review

*The taxis will rip you off if you're not careful
*Don't ask the front desk here to call you a taxi, call your own.
*Don't stay here, there are nicer, cheaper, cleaner hotels in the area.

Just to give you an idea of how bad this hotel was. My girlfriend and I talked about it and we wouldn't stay here even if it was free. Heck we wouldn't even stay here if they paid us. I would rather sleep in a car.

We booked this hotel as an overnight stay the night before a cruise. After reading some of the reviews I was very apprehensive as to what I would find when I got here. iIhad a total of six people staying at this hotel and didn't want to ruin anyone's vacation by putting them in a dump. We boarded the shuttle promptly at the airport and arrived early for check-in. Boy, was I surprised when we arrived for check-in! We were checked in and assigned our rooms upon arrival. One room was ready immediately and the other two within 45 minutes of our arrival. Our rooms were clean and did not smell moldy as many of the reviews stated. We requested all of the rooms on the first floor and our request was honored. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Booking and getting the shuttle to the cruise port was a breeze! The complimentary breakfast was very good!
This hotel is well worth the price and gets my recommendation! I will definitely use this hotel again for my next cruise!
