“OUTSTANDING as always - don't believe the negative reviews - we are regulars and the food is CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT”
Firstly - it's no longer Zuckerello's & Fish Co - it's just plain Zuckerello's. We go there regularly and yes, on the odd occasion, we have had to wait a few minutes for a table - but doesn't that say something about the restaurant - that it's always busy? Even in the worst economy, Zuckie's (as we call it) - is packed - and not surprisingly so - the food is outstanding, and we're not talking about a once or twice a year visit - we're talking about a few times a month. We just love the bread and garlic oil, although I've taken to requesting butter recently, simply because I know I need not to smell garlicky the following day - but trust me, if you're a garlic lover like I am, you will seriously appreciate this garlic and oil dip. It is incredible. Bread is good quality, served hot - mmmm, you can't beat it. Zuckie's recently underwent some refurbishment and as always, the result is tasteful, elegant and reminiscent of Italy, with a great warm ambience, bustling atmosphere and a welcoming feeling. Last night I tried something new - the salmon chunks in a pink sambucca sauce with linguini, tomatoes and spinach - and for $15, I thought I might see a couple of small pieces of salmon, but expected to see mainly pasta. Boy was I wrong. The dish was LOADED with pieces of salmon - and for people who don't often order salmon in case it tastes "fishy" or strong, don't worry about that here - it has a marvelous non-fishy flavor and is JUST perfect - so well cooked it flakes apart, and the flavor is outstanding. The whole dish had a wonderful balance of flavors, sauces and ingredients - and while I've always enjoyed the dishes here, I think this was the best dish I've ever had here. Really big portion, tremendous visual appeal - and as I said, the flavors were fantastic. Plenty of salmon "chunks", generous with the sauce - it was the perfect dish. My husband had his usual (Chicken Zuckerello) - and that was superb as always - a bit of a creature of habit with Zuckies - he always orders this dish, no matter what else is on offer. For me - I am going to stick with the salmon in pink sambucca sauce.
So - if you're looking for wonderful Italian food with easy parking, great service and fantastic food, you can't go wrong with Zuckerello's. The only problem is that the garlic bread is so yummy, we usually fill up so much with it and end up taking at least half our entrees home with us - but that's all good, it is dinner the following night :-)
Thank you Zuckerello's and keep on doing what you're doing - you are our favorite Italian restaurant in Florida.
