I stayed at The Atlantic for one night as the Hyatt was sold out for my first night in town. I wish I had stayed at the Atlantic the entire duration of my visit. The hotel is very nice.
Check-in: The guy at the front desk was quite conceded and had the audacity to ask me when I was leaving. I had not even set my bags into the room when he asked me what time I expected to check out of the hotel. Its not a horrible question, but it does not set a good tone for a visit. He was ready for me to leave. Thus, the check in experience was a turn off. Starwood Platinum guests... this hotel does not allow you to pick your amenity... they send something to your room. I would rather have had the extra points, but they sent up some chocolates. They actually sent me up grapefruit martinis... but I am allergic to grapefruit and I dont really drink. They were really nice about it, and sent up some chocolate, but it’s a big bummer not getting those points.
Room: I received a Platinum upgrade and had a suite. The room was really nice and big. It faced the north side of the building and thus did not have a direct view of the beach, but I could sit on the balance and face the face if I wanted. The bathroom was huge... bed comfortable... and the living room was nice.
Gym: Very nice gym. Its small to medium sized gym, but it has everything you will need. Free weights, cardio... its great. Loved it!
Pool: Nice... small, but nice. Cucumber cold towels are provided to keep you fresh... a supply of water... fresh towels... nice provisions. I dont like to drink at the pool thus the no wait staff is perfect. I hate staff bugging me about drinks. If you like staff waiting on you, they are not there... but if you like to enjoy yourself in solitude... it will work for you.
The beach is across the street.
Trina: The food was ok. I would not consider it amazing... a bit pricey for the food I received, but it was good… above average.
