I stayed at The Atlantic for one night as the Hyatt was sold out for my first night in town. I wish I had stayed at the Atlantic the entire duration of my visit. The hotel is very nice.

Check-in: The guy at the front desk was quite conceded and had the audacity to ask me when I was leaving. I had not even set my bags into the room when he asked me what time I expected to check out of the hotel. Its not a horrible question, but it does not set a good tone for a visit. He was ready for me to leave. Thus, the check in experience was a turn off. Starwood Platinum guests... this hotel does not allow you to pick your amenity... they send something to your room. I would rather have had the extra points, but they sent up some chocolates. They actually sent me up grapefruit martinis... but I am allergic to grapefruit and I dont really drink. They were really nice about it, and sent up some chocolate, but it’s a big bummer not getting those points.

Room: I received a Platinum upgrade and had a suite. The room was really nice and big. It faced the north side of the building and thus did not have a direct view of the beach, but I could sit on the balance and face the face if I wanted. The bathroom was huge... bed comfortable... and the living room was nice.

Gym: Very nice gym. Its small to medium sized gym, but it has everything you will need. Free weights, cardio... its great. Loved it!

Pool: Nice... small, but nice. Cucumber cold towels are provided to keep you fresh... a supply of water... fresh towels... nice provisions. I dont like to drink at the pool thus the no wait staff is perfect. I hate staff bugging me about drinks. If you like staff waiting on you, they are not there... but if you like to enjoy yourself in solitude... it will work for you.

The beach is across the street.

Trina: The food was ok. I would not consider it amazing... a bit pricey for the food I received, but it was good… above average.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am writing in response to your comments concerning your Platinum amenity. As a member of Starwood's Luxury Collection, our welcome amenity for our Platinum Guests must be indigenous to our locale. Therefore, we are unable to offer the choice in amenities that other hotels are able to offer. However, I am pleased to give you the points that you would have received at other properties. I invite you to contact me at the hotel with your Starwood Preferred Guest membership number, and I will happily credit the points! Thank you and have a wonderful day.

I stayed at The Atlantic during the week of July 4th. I got an upgrade to a huge suite once I arrived which was a pleasant surprise. Check in was a breeze. The accommodations were better than I expected. It was such a relaxing and pleasant experience. The staff and room service was marvelous. I will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone who was a fabulous experience in a classy hotel who knows how to treat their guests.

I wanted a spa and a relaxing getaway, by myself. I live in Florida, not far from this location. This was exactly what I was looking for. The staff were professional, very nice and friendly, outstanding service. 5 star all the way! My room on the 8th floor was, simply put: outstanding! Breathtaking views of the ocean. Imaculate, sophisticated, luxurious, comfortable. I wanted to move in!! The bathroom was well appointed, filled with goodies. All granite flooring. The spa staff were so professional, especially Annette. They treat you like a VIP. The treatments I had, massage, scrub, and facial were all amaizing. I loved every minute of it. The pool area is beautiful and drinks are great. The beach is just across the street and waters are crystal clear. I can not say enough about this hotel. The desk people are so nice and not snooty at all. FABULOUS!!!

We booked our hotel thru Starwood and enjoyed an upgraded room to a higher level upon checkin. We stayed in 1103, oceanfront with 2 queen beds for $330 a night. Wow...fantastic room, outstanding beds, gorgeous view, fabulous kitchenette, stunningly large and beautiful bathroom with seperate tub, seperate shower, private water closet, double sinks, granite counters...beautiful. But lets get back to the bed. The sheets are 600 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton. I know this 'cause I looked at the label and then looked up the sheets online 'cause I want to buy them! Okay, I'm carrying on. Great service overall...we only stayed one night on the back end of our vacation and wish we had spent the whole vacation here. Quick access to the beach. Outstanding.

The Atlantic Hotel does not live up to its expectations as hotel from Starwood's Luxury Collection. The facilities are beautiful and clean, but the service is inconsistent at best.

From the moment we checked in, the service was a disaster. We waited 20 mins for our bags to be delivered, so I called down to the bell desk, they apologized and said they would send them right up. We waited 15 more minutes. No bags. So, we went down to the lobby and found them sitting on a luggage cart. As soon as we tried to grab them, a bellman offered to take them to our room. Mind you, the hotel was not busy so there was no reason to wait 35 minutes for our bags.

As another reviewer remarked, the poolside restaurant has dismal and indifferent service. Even when we were the only table there, it took over 30 minutes to get our meal-- salad and a club sandwich. One day the poolside restaurant ran out of chicken, the next day they ran out of iced-tea, and the following day they ran out of wraps, so none of the wrap sandwiches were available. How does this happen? Who consistently runs out of staples like chicken and iced-tea?

Housekeeping service was inconsistent. They would take our bathrobes everyday and not replace them. Sometimes we would get turndown service, sometimes not. They never left additional toilet paper or shampoo-- twice I had to call housekeeping because we ran out of toilet paper. The concierge would forget to call with our dinner reservation time, the voicemail on the phone broke and no one could fix it.

On our last day there, we tried to use the women's spa locker room to take a shower only to find a man in the locker room fixing one of the showers. We said, "Excuse me, we'd like to use the showers." He looked at us perplexed and said "Go ahead." He refused to leave because he was "working"-- yeah, in the women's locker room at 3 PM. We had to ask the spa manager to have him removed. Why would you even have a man working in the women's spa locker room during business hours? And why would you not warn guests prior to entering?

Althought the facilites are up to standard with a hotel in Starwood's Luxury Collection, if you want luxury service levels you should stay two blocks down at the St Regis.
