We stayed at the Atlantic for the final night of our honeymoon; words cannot describe how wonderful it was. We booked last minute and ended up with a 850 square foot, ocean view room. The room was extraordinary, complete with mahogany furniture, granite countertops, pillow-top bed, 2 flat screen televisions, 2 Bose sound systems and fresh towels. It couldn’t have been nicer. The staff was very professional and pleasant throughout our stay. Just when we didn’t think it could be any better, we went to the pool. This is located on the 5th floor of the hotel. The Atlantic is actually located across the street from the beach, but you wouldn’t know that when at the pool. Its high enough that you feel as if you are directly on the beach. The water was warm and the food was terrific, there were the nicest towels around the pool that I have ever encountered while traveling. Trina, which is located at the Atlantic is fabulous, we ate there one other night while in Ft. Lauderdale and again for room service the night we stayed there. We ate on the balcony and then were surprised with a delicious chocolate dessert compliments of the hotel. We attempted to extend our vacation to stay an extra night but were unable to due to flight schedules. We had the time of our lives at the Atlantic, 5 star all the way. We had stayed at the Marriot Harbor Beach previously and loved it there also, we did enjoy the fact that the Marriot was on a private beach and we were able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Since the Atlantic is across the street from the beach, you could hear road noise all night and you have to walk across a busy street to get to the beach. Other than that, it was perfect!
One thing we learned while there is there are apartments and penthouses for sale in the building, so there is a mix of residents and hotel guests at the hotel. Not a big deal though.
Just got back from a long weekend here. The best hotel we have stayed at. Felt like 5 stars all the way. We were told this is the best hotel in ft. lauderdale and dont doubt it.
My husband and I just returned home after staying there for five days with our two year old. We had a great time! I loved the spa, and the baby loved the pool. The hotel upgraded us to a bigger room with an ocean front balcony. The room service food was fantastic, but expensive.
The Atlantic is really in a great location. Crossing the street to get to the beach is not at all a problem, and it is a really short walk to the water. The Trump Towers are being built next door, but there was no dust and no noise whatsoever. Granted, the beach could be cleaner, but that's no fault of the hotel. The ocean was very swimmable this time a year (mid-July), and the weather was great if you enjoy the heat.
As far as the activities, we did not find that much to do nearby, but then again, we weren't really looking. There are plenty of nice and reasonable places to eat, and there is a large mall (Galleria, I think) within a mile and a half.
We would gladly stay there again.
We had a wonderful time at the Atlantic. We were upgraded at check-in, and the staff was wonderful throughout our stay. I don't exactly know what the previous reviewer was talking about.
The pool, though a bit small, was perfect for our needs. We were with a 3 month old, and the staff did everything they could to make her comfortable. The small kitchenete is each room was great for warming bottles, prepping snacks, etc..
It is a quite convenient location and we would highly recommend the Atlantic.
