My wife and I recently stayed at the Atlantic for 5 nights and our Luxury suite was wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped, (I think that the facilities in the deluxe rooms are a little more sparse but they do have a stove top and small refrigerator) the bathroom with separate glassed-in shower and Jacuzzi tub where nice, double sink, private WC and walk-in closet where roomy and comfortable. The only complaint I would have about the bathroom is the lack of a light in the closet. The living room had two chairs, a couch and a table for four people. We had our in-laws staying with us in another room and they spent most of their free time in our room and we were never once crowded. Our balcony was also huge and would accommodate a group of 15 people at cocktail hour easily.

We didn’t purchase any spa services but the fitness area was well equipped and the equipment was new and in good shape. They have separate locker rooms for men and women, available to anyone, with each connected to a whirlpool, steam room, and sauna.

Mark at the concierge desk helped us with our Sunday brunch reservations at the Blue Moon Fish Co., and it is worth every penny. You must make reservations in advance, and make sure you get a table that is outside, which is much less crowded, covered and much more relaxing because the restaurant is on the Intracoastal Waterway; watching the yachts pass by is fun.

The front desk, bell and valet staff were all very helpful and went out of their way to help us and make sure our stay was enjoyable.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant, but the bar was a lot of fun. (Great Wine List)

The hotel is within walking distance to a number of shops, restaurants and nightlife. Access to the beach was very easy and not that dangerous in my opinion. I was nervous about this because I had read a review that stated some negative things about beach access, but crossing A1A was not a hassle and the beach was in great shape.

All in all the stay was wonderful. I agree with the previous writer that this is not a typical resort so to speak, I think kids would get bored rather easily. If you can't go to the beach or get out of the hotel then there is not much for the kids to do. But, it is a great place to relax for adults. I would recommend to anyone that they stay here, and I will definitely visit the Atlantic again.

Thought this hotel was very nice. We had a King suite with a living room and kitchen with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spotless. We had dinner in the Trina restaurant one night. The service was a little slow but the wait staff very pleasant so it made up for it.
The location was perfect. We walked everyday to restaurants and shopping- and we were only a few blocks from a water taxi stop that takes you on the intracoastal to more cafes and shopping on Los Olas. The pool area was very nice and clean and we could walk right across the street to the beach (the hotel will let you use beach towels.) The spa was small but adequate. I would definetley go back there again.
Great service!

I stayed here last week using Starwood points, which was a great deal considering their regular rates.

PROS: The room was huge, overlooking the beach; awesome bathroom with big tub, shower, two sinks and private WC; nice, fully appointed galley kitchen; HUGE TV, beds and pillows were very plush and comfortable; service was prompt and friendly; they checked us in right away when I arrived exhausted at 9 a.m., which I appreciated. Very nice gym, lovely spa, and pleasant pool area.

CONS: Pool area is a bit small, and most of it becomes shaded by about 2 p.m (at least in January) since the sun gets blocked by the building. The hotel will give you towels to go across to the beach, but chairs (rented by the city) are $5 a piece and umbrellas are $10, so a couple will be paying extra $20 per day if they want to spend any time on the beach. You'll be charged a lot for everything, including parking, and things like "delivery fees" added to room service bill on top of the usual "service fee". Wireless internet was hit-or-miss in the room. You will not get cel phone servie in the hotel due to vaultlike reinforced steel construction (which makes the place hurricane-resistant, but also expensive if you need to use the phone -- ended up paying over $50 for 4 SHORT calls to Miami). I did end up getting get cel service at the pool, though.

I would descibe The Altantic as a sleek, pleasant luxury hotel similar to the good hotels in South Beach, but NOT a resort property.

We had a huge suite with living room with balcony, bedroom with dressing area and huge bathroom and foyer. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. The restaurant, Trina, was also wonderful. It's right across the street from the beach and the pool/spa is on the 5th level overlooking the beach. Only negative was the maid service was a little spotty, had to call twice to have room made up and then the maid knocked on the door at 8:30am the last day.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights. The property and rooms are great but service is lacking, especially in the restaurant Trina.

*used utensils from previous guest(?) left on balcony
*sticky substance on the floor in room
*duplicate charges from food outlet on two occasions
*charged for honor bar when I did not consume anything in the room.
*consistently had to request that coffee be refilled at breakfast
*dinner reservation for 9:00 but was not seated until 9:30
*after being seated bread and drinks took 20 minutes to arrive at table
*SPG points did not post to account correctly
[/list]
I would stay here again, but lower my expectations. I figured that the hotel being under the luxury collection flag would be on par with a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. The Bellman, Bryan, was the only individual who stood out.
