Service is the key to this place. Wayne was a wonderful host. He smiled a lot, welcomed me by name, and was very service oriented. I stayed in a smaller room, but it was well appointed and clean (and modern). The rooms were also quiet at night, which I appreciated. (small point: the bed was a bit hard, but I tend to like my bed pretty soft). Other people reported that they really liked their beds, so who I am to complain. :)

It's about 20 minutes from Haulover (gay nude) beach, so you will need a car, but it's not far from shopping and downtown Ft Lauderdale.

I have stayed at other gay resorts, but none as friendly...and by the way, the kitchen was clean, there was always fresh fruit and water available (and beer, etc). Again, I can't say enough nice things about Wayne. He was delightful.

Pool was clean and beautifully designed. I loved that I could lie nude if I felt like it.

Wifi worked well...and there is a public access computer off the kitchen with a printer. A great set up all around!

My partner and I have stayed at many guest houses all over the world and know the Ft. Lauderdale houses very well. This is one of the top places to stay, the pool is sparkling, the rooms are very clean and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home.

8th Trip to FLL and have been to 3 other resorts in FLL. Two of which have closed down and been converted, other was just say Trail Park Trash. The neighborhood the hotel in is a nice residential area away from the tourist. You will need a car to get around places, but you will not be crushed in with every other tourist looking for a parking space. I had one of the smaller rooms there, but was never in it but to sleep. Spent most of the time there by the pool were W, D & B did everything they could to make the stay enjoyable. The pool had sun for 90%+ of the day and was kept clean. Plenty of pool towels. Water and soda was as provided while at the pool. The grounds were kept clean and picked up. Free access to a public computer and wifi was available. I was able to obtain my boarding pass 24 hrs before i departed. The check out time was also extended for me until 3pm which saved 4 hours in the hot sun.

Only disadvantage i found was I was not able to figure out which cable stations were which, a guide in the room would have helped. Also a guide to GLBT shopping, beaches that the employees/oweners would recommend or not recommend and thier opinon on them would help.

We just came back from a weekend escape to FLL. We've been at many places of varying quality there, but will likely only return to the Coral Reef Guesthouse. The grounds, including pool & jacuzzi, are beautifully landscaped and the accomodations spotless. Best of all, however, is the service - the guys (Thanks, Damian, Bruce & Wayne!) treat you like royalty. Whatever you may need - drinks by the pool, cool afternoon treats, a midnite gourmet snack in the self-service kitchen or the Sunday New York Times - it suddenly appears out of nowhere. With 8 rooms and suites, it's intimate enough for couples but 'hot' enough for singles (lots of eye candy there). We can't wait to book for New Year's Eve!

We have just returned from a week at The Coral Reef Guesthouse. After having experienced many other guesthouses in Fort Lauderdale, I can say without hesitation, that this is the best. We will return here at every opportunity. The lushly landscaped, orchid bedecked, cloistered compound is immediately engaging with its warm intimacy. The provocative lighting at night only adds to the charm of it all. Guest rooms are pristinely kept and there are thoughtful touches at every turn......an umbrella outside the door if there is rain in the forecast, requested bicycles at your door with backpacks with beach towels and water before your anticipated trip to the beach, beach umbrellas and beach chairs upon request, beer, wine, soft drinks available poolside at all times, a nicely presented breakfast available ALL MORNING, with no concerns of it being whisked away should you sleep late, snacks available 24 hours a day, the perpetually smiling and eager staff always seeing that guests are comfortable and offering beverages, fresh fruit, cheese and crackers poolside, and on and on and on. There was even an unexpected and impromptu lunch barbeque for all guests on one afternoon during our stay. As others have pointed out, it is the staff here that really makes this place stand out. This is something infinitely better than 5 star hotel service. There is nothing forced or corporately trained about these guys. They are all, without exception, warm, spontaneous and genuinely happy to make your time here exceptional. It`s as if they actually thrive on doing their jobs well. The obvious pride they take in making this a hedonistic and memorable experience is palpable. WE SHALL RETURN!
