We arrived with a little trepidation, the website looks great, but our experience of some other gay guesthouse has not been good. We should not have worried - the property is great (as described on their excellent website and then some) and the guys managing the property are the best.

First the guys – we met Damian, Wayne and Bruce the owner. They all went out of their way to make you feel at home and relaxed. Little touches – like bringing your breakfast to your room, umbrellas ready by the door when it was raining, and getting a beach bag ready for us with everything we would need.

Rooms are very neat, clean and well appointed. The property is looked after so well. It feels really lush with all the orchids - thanks to Damian for a few babies which we have planted already (indoors!). Not sure how they are going to grow in the less than tropical UK though! The property is in a nice quiet area, very secluded, between the beach and Wilton Manors – which is actually ideal. The pool and Jacuzzi are great. The breakfast is great, fresh and good quality. Having snacks throughout the day, with drinks and beers too was great.

We stayed at another gay guesthouse, near to Wilton Manors, and although the accommodations were fine and service ok, we felt like it was a business. That is the difference at the Coral Reef Guesthouse – you feel like you are staying with friends – and that is difficult to find.

The guys said that about 65% of their guests have stayed before – we can well believe it – if we go back to Fort Lauderdale – we would stay only at the Coral Reef Guesthouse. Thanks for a great stay guys. Anthony and Albert.

We had never been to Fort Lauderdale so I spent weeks on Trip Advisor just reading through reviews of different clothing optional resorts in the area. All that research paid off because Coral Reef Guesthouse is amazing.

Location, Location, Location
Coral Reef Guesthouse is a short (easy) 15 minute drive from the airport and is located in the very nice, upscale, quiet residential neighborhood of Coral Ridge. You could not ask for a more ideal, convenient location. Coral Reef Guesthouse is minutes from the beach, Wilton Manors, Downtown Fort Lauderdale, and attractions for sightseeing. As soon as you pull up in front you automatically have a welcoming feeling and know that you made the right choice. There is parking right in front and the lush tropical landscaping adds such great curb appeal. You can immediately tell that Coral Reef is a well maintained property as soon as you arrive. You can’t wait to go through the entry doors to see what lies ahead.

I cannot say enough about the staff, Damian & Wayne (they are the icing on the cake) along with the owners Bruce & Frank. They make you feel at home from the moment that you check in. They all take time out of their busy days of running the guesthouse to spend time chatting with you and making sure everything is OK and asking if there is anything they can do for you. But if you want to keep to yourself they also respect that. It is very obvious that they all enjoy their jobs and it shows. Their service is unbelievable and #1. They also know the best places in town to eat & have a drink along with where you can enjoy great entertainment.

The rooms are high quality just as they appear on their website. The rooms are spotless, well maintained and very comfortable. I know when I go on vacation I want to stay in a place that is equal or better than my own home and Coral Reef Guesthouse lived up to this expectation. The bath products and robes that were provided were also a nice touch and if you get a room with a kitchen its fully equipped.

The property is beautiful and very private. Impeccably maintained tropical landscaping complete with potted palms on the main patio area and orchids everywhere you look. There is a tranquil pond with waterfall complete with fish & frogs on the way to your room. The pool and hot tub are wonderful places to relax during the day or night. There are fresh towels, lotions and bug spray provided by the pool. Be sure to try their outdoor shower as its fantastic!

Breakfast is very adequate and good. Snacks and bottled water are available 24 hrs. along with a computer, internet, and printer for you use. They also have menus from restaurants in the area for you to view along with a video library.

We are already starting to plan our next vacation to Fort Lauderdale and we will only be staying at the Coral Reef Guesthouse. From the moment you arrive and until the time you leave you know you have made some new lasting friends. If you stay anywhere else then you have made a mistake. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return (hopefully soon!). Thanks Again to Damian, Wayne, Bruce & Frank for an unforgettable vacation, you are all #1 in our opinion, keep up the Great Job!

The Coral Reef Guesthouse is an all male clothing-optional paradise located in beautiful Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. If you are looking to spend a relaxing and fun-filled vacation in the company of the most professional innkeepers and staff available in the area, the Reef is your only choice. Affordability is also a key factor in choosing the Reef for your stay.

Located close to the beaches, shopping areas and gay nightlife, this place is truly a gem. You will find a very intimate atmosphere with eight of the most attractively appointed rooms that are meticulously maintained by the housekeeping staff, Wayne and Damien. All rooms feature private full bathrooms, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. Rooms range from generously sized smaller rooms with queen and king size beds to larger sized suites, some with two queen sized beds or a king. The suites offer a kitchen area for cooking also. All rooms feature cable televisions, some with DVD players as well as a mini-fridge and a microwave oven for your convenience. Housekeeping is performed daily and bathrooms are stocked with travel size toiletries such as body wash, soap, shampoo, body lotion and mouthwash which are replenished daily. Many of the rooms have recently been redone with the ultimate in comfort and beauty. Most rooms feature a poolside view (complete with a hot tub/jacuzzi) and wraparound a lush, tropically landscaped courtyard. The majority of the rooms also have a backyard private patio area. Wi-fi is also standard here. A computer room adjacent to the common kitchen features a notebook computer for the guests' use. Also they have a very nice collection of books, magazines and DVDs for your spare time perusal.

Bruce and Frank (the owners) have gone to the extreme in providing their guests with all of the comforts of home and more. They and their staff do more than is commonly expected to make their guests feel as comfortable as is possible. The level of attention to detail is clearly evident at the Reef. Whether you are looking for an intimate stay with your significant other or happen to want to socialize with the other guests, the Reef is the place to stay. These guys anticipate their guests every need and desire and deliver excellent service in a consistently friendly and caring manner. In other words, service with a smile.

Some of the special touches typically not seen at other guesthouses include the following:
1) 24 hour access to a fully appointed kitchen stocked with drinks, snacks, and fruit as well as other goodies.
2) a more than gracious selection of food offered at breakfast including hot and cold drinks, cereals, pastries, bagels, fresh fruits, bagels, hard boiled eggs and more.
3) access to free bicycles.
4) an outside cooler by the pool fully stocked with water, soda and frequently a few types of beer.
5) an honest, personal approach to meeting your every need.
6) they will provide you with beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels (in a backpack!) and a mini cooler with ice and cold drinks.
7) impromptu hors deuvres and mixed drinks poolside.
8) weekend barbeques.
9) assistance in planning your own functions while there.
10) Saturday cruises on the Intercoastal Waterway on Frank's magnificiently appointed yacht, the Stingray. These cruises also include hors deuvres and alcoholic beverages to partake in while Frank narrates your cruise with informative information about the Waterway and it's many sites.
11) if needed, they will pick you up at the airport upon your arrival as well as take you back upon your departure.
12) they have a wealth of information to provide you with regarding places to see while there, just ask.

I can not say enough about this place. It is truly paradise made affordable to everyone. I will continue to look forward to many more repeat vacations at this five star guesthouse. It is home away from home for myself and many of my friends.

In summary, make it a point to call and speak to Frank, Bruce, Wayne or Damien before you consider staying anywhere else in the Ft. Lauderdale area. You will not be disappointed. You too will be overwhelmed beyond your wildest expectations at the level of service and attention provided at the Coral Reef Guesthouse!

Sincerely,
Kevin Conroy

From beginning to end, every minute of my stay was among the best I'd ever experienced. The room was very well done, certainly very clean and comfortable. More than that, there was great attention to detail for comfort. It was large with all the amenities I could need.

The outdoor area was private - a nice pool well maintained with a hot tub attached. I spent much time there even though the beach which I love was very close. The age-range of the guests was wide, and I swam naked shamelessly (I'm 61) but very comfortably, with offers of fresh fruit, water served without asking. There was a stocked cooler poolside for cold beverages. The kitchen was also well stocked for snacks all day and night.

The grounds were spotless as well with nice gardening and a pond with the mascot frog. I just had to mention "beach" and was well suppled with towels, water, beach chairs, umbrellas. I used one of their bikes for a great ride around the gorgeous area where it is located.

I will go back there every chance I get. All the guests were treated well, so that we were happy and enjoyed our time with each other.

Great location and great prices made this ideal.

First time I've ever left a Ft. Lauderdale Guest House early. When I checked out, instead of the owner asked what the problem was, I was told to "have a nice day"
