When choosing a guesthouse in Fort Lauderdale the top choices are clear....The Royal Palms, Pineapple Point, Flamingo or the Coral Reef. While the first three are all very nice (and pricey) the Coral Reef is the obvious choice for its relaxed ambiance and unbeatable location. The Coral Reef is on a quiet street in the Coral Ridge section of Fort Lauderdale, a very exclusive residential neighborhood that's centrally located near shopping and a lot of restaurants, as well as being near the beach. We usually enjoy staying at small boutique hotels and have stayed at the Coral Reef 3 different times. The property has only 8 rooms and is comprised of a group of buildings around a beautiful swimming pool. The landscaping is a tropical delight, loaded with vegetation and manicured with lots of care and detail. On our most recent visit we stayed in a suite which was large, very eclectically furnished, and had a nice, small kitchenette. The baths here are not especially big, but very adequate. Housekeeping service is good too. A very informal continental breakfast is served in the office in the mornings. All in all the property is well maintained and very attractive. The service is friendly without being over-familiar. After staying at many guesthouses in Fort Lauderdale, we will remain loyal to the Coral Reef.

We just got back yesterday from a week at the Coral Reef. It was amazing, and in a word PERFECT! My boyfriend and I went, and we were pampered the entire week and did not have to worry about a thing.
Rooms: Clean and very creatively accessorized. Walk out the door to a gorgeous pool and large sun deck. Comfy lounges provided in front of the room to lay out by the pool. There was a beutiful koi pond outside our room with a magical painted background. Despite the heat outside our room never get really warm either - the temperature control works very well and the beds are comfortable too. The bathroom was small and simple including a sink, shower and toilet, but very clean. The shower was Great because you can adjust the water pressure to whatever you find comfortable. The staff, especially Jeff and Frank, were AMAZING.
The nicest people you could meet. They always served you with a smile, no matter what you requested. We plan on returning next year, as this was the best week we've ever had.

Last month my boyfriend and I stayed at the Coral Reef, and from the minute we stepped inside the guesthouse we were treated first class.
Once inside the compound, you encounter a lovely palm-filled courtyard and it is the first clue of what a quiet, lovely, romantic and relaxed guesthouse this is. The somewhat secluded location makes this wonderful oasis a quiet retreat from the busy atmosphere of the beach. The room we stayed in was beautifully redone with a little seating area and a very comfortable bed. A kitchenette was available and the bathroom was small but well furnished. We stayed for four nights and the guesthouse was a point of departure for trips throughout the City, and a more central location could not have been found. The relaxed sophistication and secluded location as well as comfort of this guesthouse made it a wonderful destination in itself, and the perfect place for a great romantic getaway for a busy couple. We can not say enough about our experience at the Coral Reef!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Coral Reef last month. The words I am about to use to describe this slice of Heaven is only a portion of the true experience. Due to its excellent location in Coral Ridge you have the best of both worlds at the Coral Reef.. You are in walking distance of the Galleria Mall and a lot of great restaurants, yet far enough away from the beach area that you can escape the noise and comotion when you wish to relax..Our beautifully furnished deluxe room featured a king-size bed, refrigerator, TV-VCR, coffe-maker and a wonderful and unusual black-tiled bathroom. Most important, the room was very clean and appealing with its soft, pastel color scheme. The staff here is very professional and nicer than we have found at some other Fort Lauderdale guesthouses. In a nutshell this now has become our favorite guesthouse and we'll be sure to return as soon as we can.

Without question one of the best guesthouse stays in Ft. Lauderdale we have ever had. Coral Reef is the place for us to go when we want a romantic getaway, We have always found the rooms to be very luxurious and very clean. Our suite this time was very spacious with a living room/dining room, kitchen, and all very nicely decorated and done in cool pastel colors...and we really liked the private jacuzzi!
Unpretentious service seems to be the right words for Coral Reef, and the whole staff there is so friendly and helpful. Also the pool is great and the location can't be beat. Out of all the guesthouses we have tried in Ft. Lauderdale, Coral Reef makes us feel more at home than any. Overall a lovely place to stay; we highly recommend.
