I spent a chunk of time looking for a hotel for two days for our extended family to stay before heading out on a cruise. I kept coming back to this one because of the reviews written in the last 6-8 months on Tripadvisor. I looked elsewhere as well.

I ended up emailing the hotel through their website and received emails back from the manager, Patsy, and her assistant manager. They offered me lower prices than I could find on any website.

There were two things that concerned me: 1) no free transportation to and from the airport or the cruise port, and 2) some of the reviews of the surrounding neighborhood. When I called and talked to Patsy, she informed me that they had just begun testing a van for transportation to and from the ports. It still wasn't free, but my transportation woes went out the window. (We ended up renting two vehicles for the 10 of us so it was a moot point). Although some of the neighborhood could raise concern, we never felt 'threatened' even though we walked down to the RiverFront for supper and shopping. (I will say that walking by the bus station did give the girls some willies).

As we entered the hotel for the first time, we were greeted by a very friendly staff not to mention the free coffee and cookies. The lobby area was attractively decorated. Upon checking in we found out that two of our three rooms were on the 8th floor and one was on the 4th floor. She asked if that would be OK and I expressed our desire to all be a bit closer together. She immediately found another room on the 8th floor for the third room. While it wasn't right next to the others, the floors aren't so huge that it was very far away. We were pleased. At check-in we also requested a roll-away which was delivered within 15 minutes. Smiles all around!

The rooms were clean and attractive. We had no broken, ripped, or peeling areas. the wireless Internet was great and there was also a network cable I plugged into my computer and it worked even better! While we had no problem with our room safe, one of the other rooms never did get theirs to work although they quit trying and put there stuff in our safe. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we all slept well. I would have slept better the first night if my 14yo son wouldn't have hogged so much of the bed!!

The breakfast area was large and overlooked the pool. We had several hot items every day along with cold cereal, hot cereal, fruit and pastries. There were also hot drinks including coffee, hot chocolate, tea, as well as two kinds of cold milk. The breakfasts were included and quite good. There were plenty of free USA Todays to read while eating or you could watch a flat screen TV. I overheard some kids saying they had hooked their game machine into the flat screen TV in the dining area and played late at night.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone...especially if you want great service, room, and breakfast for a very reasonable price. The next time we go into Fort Lauderdale, I'll call and try to get into the Hampton Inn City Center hotel first!

I'll put in a quick plug for the Holiday Park Airboat rides and sport fishing with the Lady Pamela II crew. We did both and found them both to be excellent activities. The Everglades didn't look like we thought and our prize fish were ‘trophy’ Barracudas!! We also ate at Tarpon Bend and had excellent fish! It's just a few blocks from the hotel in the RiverFront.

  • Liked — The service.

This hotel is very clean a nice! You have to use your room key once you get in the elevator and then choose the floor you wish to go to. It has garage parking, but the garage is very narrow. So if you are driving a hummer you certainly will not be able to park in the garage. If you are going to Port Everglades it is about 3 miles from the Port. My husband and I enjoyed it very much. I love Hampton hotel's, I am a Hampton girl!

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Although most of the reviews on here are very good, I don't think they convey just how nice of a hotel this is. I stayed for one night on business and found this Hampton Inn to be exceptionally clean to the point of perfection with very modern updated rooms and a very comfortable bed and linens.
The room was quiet with everything I could have wanted including microwave, refrigerator and free high speed internet. The staff was very courteous and helpful and the lobby looks like something from a much pricier hotel. In fact, the room also looked much more upscale considering it's reasonable price.
I honestly was not expecting such a nice room. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Well for the price, the standard of this property in terms of the foyer, rooms and facitlies (business centre etc.) is not unlike what you would find in a much higher class of hotel chain (sorry Hampton Inn if that offends!).

The rooms actually have a little of the wow factor. The beds are huge and comfortable, the bathrooms are spotless and well fitted and all the touches are there. Fort Lauderdale riverwalk is only a few blocks away and so the location is great too.

We found the hotel by chance on a stopover driving down to Miami and we basically got lucky. The breakfast is good and the internet access was free with 3 or 4 terminals to use to cover off all those pesky emails!

Best part of this hotel? The front desk staff and staff in general. I have to admit we were tired on arrival and for some reason had diffculty sleeping due to the air conditioning unit in our room being particularly noisy (1106). This was so disappointing as the room otherwise was perfect. The noise resulted in me going to the front desk twice (1am and 4am). First time we decided to try again as moving the bags was a pain but by 4am we needed to get some sleep.

I think it was James on the front desk who put up with my minor rant and fixed this despite the 'system' not allowing him to do so initially. Not only that but Hampton Inn lived up to their customer satisfaction promise - and we did not pay for our stay!

Great job Hampton Inn (and James!)

I stayed in the Hampton Inn on the night of the 15th for business. I arrived late, but check in was smooth as usual.

Parking is on a deck attached to the hotel. If you get there late you might have to park on the top floor which is not covered. The deck is very tight so take care not to scrape your car or others.

Hotel was clean and the lobby was big and open. The business center had 4 computers, all attached to a printer and easy to access.

The rooms were nice. The view from my side was of the neighborhood surrounding, but others had views of downtown.

One unexpected plus was that they had 3 HBO channels, instead of just one, which offered additional movie and show choices.

Breakfast was on the 2nd floor over looking the lobby and the pool. Usual Hampton selection and had an egg, cheese and bacon mixture on an english muffin/bagel that was excellent.

All in all good hotel, clean, accessible location.
