It's more than an upscale, friendly, service oriented, well located, quiet place. An Algerian chef comes in to make dinner (with a little notice, he'll whip up a couscous, not on the menu), served overlooking the inland waterway. We ate at local favorite Blue Moon Fish Company, and at (currently Trip Advisor's #1 Ft. Lauderdale restaurant) Cafe Seville, but the Pillars has the best food of the three. Don't repeat the often made mistake of waiting until the end of your stay to try the Pillar's restaurant. You won't be sorry. By the way, one review I read described this place as a redecorated motel. That's unfair. It's true that it's not Four Seasons elegance. For example, they're missing a few easy amenities, such as makeup mirror, second sink, et. al. About a football field away from the Ritz Carleton, which is on the beach and among the noise and bustle of Route A1A, the Pillars is on the intracoastal waterway, quiet, cozy, convenient, and everything we wanted.
