We stayed at the Pillars 2/25-3/3/05. We had researched the area for about 9 mths and found this to be the best hotel in Ft Lauderdale if you like small luxury hotels with personalized service, not a large scale with a concrete room. It was beyond what we thought it would be! Bathrobes, Lindt chocolates @ turndown svc, cleanest rooms and plush towels, morning paper, breakfast for a 10-15$ fee served at your outside table or on the intercoastal. Wine and beer and appetizers between 5-7, concierge svc. Iced tea by the pool. The lounge chairs were padded with fitted towels, plus another towel for drying off. Wonderful service, plus a great view. Relaxing and the water taxi stops at the hotel. The water bus is slow so allow enough time to get to Las Olas/ riverfront or North to Shooters, Charleys Crab. There is a bus svc for $1., stops at the Galleria Mall (bus 40) or all the way to Pompano (bus 11). Taxis are cheap, too. We ate at Casablanca Cafe, Mangos (lunch excellent), Timpano, River House, Big City Tavern, Charleys Crab. All excellent! Great bars on the beach 2/1. Wonderful stay and we loved Ft Lauderdale and the Pillars.
