I stay at the Pillars every three to six months and have been for the past four years. There is nothing else like it in all of Ft. Lauderdale. The staff knows me personally, since I make it a habit of going so often, but even to those they do not know personally, I see the interaction and sheer attention to detail they give to everyone. The same staff has been there for quite some time, and it's great to see a familiar face when I walk in the door, be it Tom, Amy or Jessica or Caroline.

More important is the sheer beauty of the place. When you are inside their little sanctuary, you would never guess what lies beyond. They have a nice breakfast menu, but it's expensive so I usually eat light anyway, and opt for a later breakfast at the little french crepe place on Las Olas. The coffee is excellent so I am happy with coffee and hot croissant.

The rooms are lovely. They have flat screen HDTV's, marble showers, a desk, and some of the rooms have mini bar with a sink and microwave. The beds are so comfortable, it's hard to drag yourself out of them.

The lobby is very welcoming. It's a great place to sit and relax with the paper or a drink. They have a beautiful bookcase with books to take at your leisure. I usually leave my finished books with them to add to their collection. They also have a comprehensive DVD list that you can check out, take a movie back to your room, all free of charge. They serve wine, but no liquor as they do not have a license for that. I just make a quick trip to Crowne Wine and Sprits and bring my own stuff back to the room.

The pool is salt water and truly beautiful. The pool chairs are fabulous. Every single thing is fabulous...I can't say enough.

The water taxi comes right to their dock and can take you to just about anything you might want to venture to, but I always get a car. Parking is free. You can walk to the beach, which is hardly ever crowded, and they provide beach towels if you need one.

It is so peacful and lovely, I leave the place with a heavy heart every time I go, but I always know within a short time, I will return. It's the very best of Ft. Lauderdale,

I could go on and on about this place.......the lovely Caroline.....her great staff. The hotel is small, quiet, charming , RELAXING, has a great view of the water traffic on the sound.....within walking distance of the beach and The Swimming Hall of Fame (important for my Master Swimmer husband).....has water taxi service......superb, accommodating chef. The street side is so small, you have to know it's there to even spot it......our kind of place. What makes it really stand out, though, is the staff! Every last person was smiling, accommodating, seemingly delighted to have us as guests, and looked like they truly enjoyed their jobs. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay at this small hotel.

Held a Sales Meeting in Ft Lauderdale mid-September for a group of 11. Caroline and her team did amazing job of making our experience very special. They went as far opening the waterfront restaurant on the one closed night and our Comapny name printed at the top of each menu. First Class. My team is still talking about our stay and how hard it will be to top the Pillars. Highly recommend!

Thanks Caroline and the team

My wife and I have just recently stayed at the Pillars at New River Sound. We have been coming here for years and always enjoy our stay. We have done a lot of traveling and have stayed at the large chain hotels which may be fine for a business convention but sometimes lack warmth and intimacy.

The property is adjacent to the intracoastal waterway where you can sit, relax and watch the boats glide by. The beach is only one small block in the other direction and just a two minute walk.

Some reviewers have commented on the rooms being small but we find them just fine and also very tastefully decorated. So much so that on our last visit we brought along swatches of Benjamin Moore colors in subtle tropical yellows and matched one up perfectly and then painted our bedroom to match. We also had a carpet installed in the same evergreen shade. Now I feel like we have a piece of the Pillars in our home bedroom.

We love having a table and two chairs right outside our doorway and enjoy sitting there in the mornings overlooking the beautiful pool and the lovely tropically landscaped grounds.

Caroline, the Managing Director is wonderful and always makes us feel at home. Special thanks also to Jessica, Amy, and Isabella.

We are certainly looking forward to our next visit.

Perfect location on the Intercoastal and close to beach. Good parking. Public areas are very nice and my room (I was upgraded to a suite) was spacious and comfortable. However, the shower, despite a big shower head, had almost no water pressure. I was assured that this was not a general problem for the hotel, but it certainly was for me. I missed a coffee maker in the room and the breakfast menu was less than impressive, so I chose a nearby coffee shop.
