Only had one night in Fort Lauderdale, but really enjoyed it. This hotel was fabulous, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and very nice staff.
If the weather had been ok (ie. not raining) we could have got the Fort Lauderdale water taxi which literally stops at the bottom of the garden of the property, if you give them a wave!

We stayed here for 5 days, having been let down elsewhere at the last minute. We were very pleased to have found The Pillars, which is a like an oasis in the desert of high rise and charmless hotels increasingly covering this location. Very good quality bed, sheets etc, good value for the size of the room. Outside pool area is very relaxed and quiet - although I expect could be a bit crowded in the peak months - with stunning views of the waterways and mega yachts. Great access straight off dock onto water taxi and into Fort Lauderdale proper. Only disappointment was the restaurant - first, it is not available Sunday or Monday night, which turned out to be a blessing actually, because when we did eat there it was highly missable. The chef appears to be stuck in the early 1990s (eg whipped butter with bread, cream served with coffee), trying to hard with very rich buttery dishes and way too many flavours which make the food overly complicated - expensive too given the end product. He needs to get back to a more simplified menu. The self-styled 'Manager of Food and Beverages' appeared to know next to nothing about the extensive and expensive wine list and actually managed to forget my starter completely (bear in mind that I was one of only six diners that evening - not exactly rushed off his feet!). I recommend you avoid eating here completely (although lunch is better) and head for a great selection of much better establishments in Las Olas Boulevard in central Fort Lauderdale.

My wife and I stayed four nights in October 2007. If you want peace and serenity this is the place to stay. Granted we were there in the off season so I counted no more than 4 people at the pool at any given time. There's plenty of places to sit and enjoy the wonderful view of the intercostal or the pool area.

The nightlife on A1A is very shot two block walk so you can leave the car in the lot.

The staff was very accommodating we did not ask them for much but I got the impression they would do anything to make your stay enjoyable.

If you looking to relax this will fit the bill, we will return!

Excellent Hotel. We stayed here for 8 days and had a fantastic relaxing time. The rooms were comfortable, bed linen and towels excellent quality. The rooms had everything you needed, although the shower was not the most powerful and took a little time to heat up.
The pool and dock area, very comfortable, clean and beautifully relaxing.
We had dinner one night,which was fantastic.
Breakfast served on the dock every morning which was lovely.
We did go for the breakfast included package, which was good, although you still get charged a delivery fee + Tax + Tip on top each day which isnt included which we thought was abit cheeky !

This hotel was very quiet and service was excellent, great location - on the river and a 2 minute walk to the beach. We will definaltely return and would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
