We are in our 2nd day here at the Schubert with only 1 more day to go left on our vaction and this resort is one of the best that we have ever stay in.
The staff is great and always friendly and trying to help you out with things to do and places to go and the front desk staff goes way beyond what they need to for guest relations.
You can tell that the staff like what they are doing and like the jobs they have because they all care. Glen and Ron who are on the desk are always asking how you are and how everything is and you can tell that the hotel means alot to the manager James because he is always around and always talking with the people staying and making sure everything is ok and if something is not ok then he will make it right and take care of it.
We met James (David) years ago when we took a cruise and he was the cruise director and he is still the same person he was then being concerned, caring and always smiling and he even remembered us which was very nice. The Schubert better make sure they keep him around as he did wonders with group cruises with Princess Cruises.
We picked this hotel because of the reviews and how everyone has said this is one of the best places and when we got here we really did see everything that all the other reviews mentioned and how true things are.
The bad review that I read that was put on here the other day I have to wonder if that person did stay here or if they stayed in some other place because I did read that review and we have seen nothing like that or even would think it is the same hotel.
We travel alot and my partner is the most picky person when it comes to 2 things and that is eating and hotels being clean, so please take it from a person who has been with someone picky like this that if my partner said we will be booking to come here again then it is the place to be and things are great, the rooms are very large and they are clean and fresh.
All we would like to say is great going to the staff at Schubert Resort and we will be back.

This is the third time I've stayed at The Schubert Resort, and it's the third time I've walked away feeling this is truly one of the best gay resorts in Fort Lauderdale - if not THE best. I love this place. They've fully recovered from the 2005 hurricane season (although I'm still looking forward to when they replace the Schubert neon sign!), and the resort remains beautiful. Terrific architectural touches, here & there (the lobby looks like a retro set from a cool movie), the hot tub is great, the pool (albeit a bit on the small side) also was great (perfect temp). 31 units, The Schubert was filled to capacity while I was there, and attracted a mix of ages for the Pride weekend - which was fine with me - ranging from early 20's to 60's - with everyone there out to enjoy themselves, and each other's company. It was a totally relaxed, "clothing optional" environment. Again - perfect for me.

The staff is incredible - every single person, from the manager to the housecleaners. All, friendly, helpful - even funny.

The location's great, too. It's in the Victoria Park area, so it's not on the beach - but close enough if you want the beach. (I preferred to stay at the pool.) There's ATM machines close by, there's a beer/wine/deli within a block... the Gateway Cinema is also within a block's reach... A great Thai restaurant... A great coffee shop, next to the Gateway, etc. In short, everything you need is within walking distance.

I've stayed at nearly every gay resort in Fort Lauderdale, at this stage of the game, and keep coming back to The Schubert. And, every time I leave, I feel like I'm leaving "family"...

Can't wait to come back, guys. KEEP IT UP!!!

Victor

It is a very good hotel, looked all over the city to find one I feel good at. This is it! Have made it my hotel of choice in Fort Lauderdale. The staff is first rate and that go's for the rooms.

Stayed one week, and ended up coming back and staying the next week too! Rooms are all brand new, and nicely appointed, felt like a very upscale hotel. Staff is incredibly friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay wonderful. Location was fantastic, close to beach, Wilton Manors and the major highways....Great neighborhood, with cool shops and restaurants within walking distance....This is the best deal in Ft. Lauderdale!
