We stayed at the Premier Hotel prior to going on a cruise for my husband's 60th birthday. We arrived later than we thought we would because our cabbie couldn't find the hotel, but when I called the hotel, Fred helped with clear directions. Fred immediately took our luggage up to our room on the third floor and then came back and he and his father, Mario, got us checked in. We had a nice conversation with both of them and then we were off to a restaurant where I had reservations for my husband's special birthday dinner. When I asked Fred if he would call a cab for us, he said he'd take us to the restaurant! That was just so nice and special--I couldn't believe it--I had never had that happen before! They did several other things for us during our stay that I felt were over and above the call of duty.
The room we stayed in was spacious, with 2 beds, a kitchen, dining table with 4 chairs, nice tv, large closet, 2 comfy chairs. (Most hotels don't have anyplace to sit except for the bed). The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were very soft. The hotel is older and there are a few properties nearby that are abandoned, but we never felt scared or worried for our safety. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance and the beach is basically across the street. There is a nice clean pool on the property, but we didn't have a chance to use it.
Yes, the place is dated and the humidity and proximity to the ocean have caused extra wear and tear, so if you are picky, don't stay at The Premier. But if you want a hotel with the nicest, friendliest owners, this is the place for you! We had a great stay and I would go back in a minute as long as the Farber's own the hotel!
